I was thinking of that, but I have neither friends nor strength. Bad luck, I suppose

What I suggest is just building the pallisade a bit longer and DO make it fit somewhere on the cliff.

I already placed one end on the ledge so that it fit on the side. I'm not sure what you mean about making it longer; I already made it quite long so I suppose I'm fine there. I tried the fence idea, but it's especially challenging with all of the lag near my house (lots of crops = lots of lag I suppose :|). To be honest, I still kind of believe that a simple picture of a palisade gate would be most helpful in helping me deal with this issue :D

Ok, I think I might have gotten it. This is as close as I could place the Roundpole Fence, to the best of my knowledge (which isn't very much). What do you guys think? Should I try to compress it more, or is it fine as is?

Well, I went with the fence method like you all recommended to me. And...

Well, what do I do now? I essentially spent twice of what I should have on a palisade, and now I am still completely defenseless :( At least nothing else could possibly go wrong, right?

...right?

I suppose a bump wouldn't be too much to ask for, since I'm currently at my wit's end about this issue.

How about just building two wall segments to get the corner post properly spaced and then destroy them with a battering ram?

uh you need to pave two tiles infront/behind the gate in order to place it

No dice. And it didn't even give me an option to make a gate, which is what I'm assuming it's supposed to do, regardless of stone tile or not.
