The D was a accident. And it suddenly changing is because I'm to lazy to fix it with a new picture. Never the less, it doesn't take away from the joke much. Bah.

The only people who would GET the joke are the people from B12. And only about half of those.

For the uninitiated, what is supposedly happening in WD's pictures: The green guys are firing arrows at the "bear" (it's supposed to be a B, but he got lazy and it's a D in the first picture) which is stuck behind what I assume is a stump (it's the representation of a wood block in DF, but that wouldn't block anything in either game, so I assume it's a stump, though DF doesn't have stumps). The yellow guy wanders over and removes the stump. The green guys get mauled.

I liked Potjeh's much better, myself.

I found DF unplayable without Tilesets, the jumble of the ASCII characters was horrid.

In the world of the roguelikes, the "@" is king.

You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Am I supposed to be seeing something there other than a heavily trapped entrance with two drawbridges and two small perpetual motion machines? And the whole thing seems rather microline-ish.

...and can we re-rail this thread and not discuss DF? It's kinda pointless here. *blames WD*

Not really, the traps are fully equiped with *acquired* goblin and human weapons, the ramps lead to the underground trading post, and the machines are for filling the underground trading post with water which I just put in on a whim and never used (The mud is merely decoration).

And everything IS microcline, the fortress goes 3 z-levels above ground.
