Let's just use a polar coordinate system, for maximum confusion.

Like it. The coordinates like in a graph are way better, than f'ckn letters.

1S0E == 1S0W == defag({-1,0})
3N2W == defag({3, -2})

Other than Shagrath's this is probably the only other convention I'd accept. And this might actually be a lot easier.

The whole point though was to just get rid of the 'start from left top corner', because since maps are added there, it breaks past names.

I think this system would actually work a lot better, no one can fuck up N/E/W/S. (except FOX xD)

then they didn't have math on school. it is a standard graph grid

Right, but using letters isn't really any harder, the people having issues with remembering it are just fail.

I was kidding about using negative letters too by the way. I don't really use any of these systems because I know where I am and I can get to Constantinople, but as long as they keep adding SGs to all sides we're going to need a system which can expand in all directions.

Using letters isn't harder, untilt he expansion on all sides.

If expansion was simply south/east it wouldn't be a problem, too bad it isn't, so we need something that splits from the center.

I think the N1E1 system will work the best personally. Logically it's hard to fuck it up as long as you know where the center is, and since there is a town there, even easier.
