You just make them one way. So that you can get out of your village to a crossroad in front of your walls but not vice versa. For that take a crossroad sign from the outside crossroad and attach it to the inside crossroad. Never ever take a sign from the inside crossroad, no matter for what. That way nobody can teleport in. Oh and take care to place the crossroads some tiles away from your wall, otherwise people might be able to use the teleport bug to spawn on the wrong side of the wall.

Im not angry anymore or as sad, but lets keep this thread going, has anybody else had an experience like this? oh and thank you guys for throwing some nice condolences in my direction instead of directing me to something else about how to properly protect my village.

i've seen villages left for less reason.
i was 2 months away for some internet-issues and found 2 bigger settlements right next to my claim. noobish, but the needed some time for all those houses, thousands of fences and stuff...

just keep on going. there will be better times!

There have been many on here that have had issues with gates and keys. The important thing is to learn from this mistake! Don't give up in a fit of anger over something silly like so many seem to do. Although, I'd be surprised if you ever did just give up... very very surprised :D Glad to hear everything is okay in your village. You were one of the lucky ones!

Yes. the person who was killed is still playing of coarse which is nice, and i wont be giving up anytime soon. its a learning experience. I find it funny though that two other villagers were also on at the time watching what happened.

This. Avu is a major prick; there's no bones about it. He has, however, managed to keep the respect of most all of the prominent players in this game and that's because he's always right.

If you can just shrug off his snide and narcissistic demeanor you can learn a lot from him.

Don't take it personally, he's a dick to everyone.

well, i feel for you man(both before and after the info)

it's good that your neighbors killed the thief. its bad that your village had that kinda thing. Now am i blaming everyone in the village for the 1 thief's actions? no. But since this game has a quazi perma death. . .
it's always best to boot the "badseeds" especially if u told em no already.

ok my lil story

World 2. I had just left 2 m8's my old plot and struck out on me own. bout an hour later, i find all that i need, river shore, well, 2 rocks, and all the trees you can throw a stick at. was there for a bit, had my kilns up and running, drying racks all in order, ovens a cooking, buckets full of leather full and waiting to be processed. Anyhoo i believe i had me MM up to like 30-50, can't remember. i had a descent settlement, Tons of crops and such(too new to know that you had to have a descent amount of stats to find the imfamous RustRoot, LOL i thought every cave was a metal mine, LOL). Well one day a stranger came a knocking, said he was new to game, so i took him in and showed him how to do things(now i know better not to believe anyone who says thier a noob, Especially when they're decked out in all Leather and stuff) we developed a friendship, and bout 1 or twice a week, he would go foraging for a day or 2, always said that he found this stuff from abanded areas. that made sence to me, since i saw old abanded forts and hiomesteads all the time. Well long story short, ole dude(crouppa89 or something like that)was busy using black skills to help himself to other peep's stuff. And since i was too niave to think, man where is he getting all these items and seeds, when the people did come a looking, they see this stickfence place with all thier tools and seeds.

Needless to say. he was dead, and everything i had was gone. i left that hovel with basically a q15 bow, some arrows, and i believe a hemp or flax seed or 2. i was pissed first off, because of thinking that some raider came in and lolled us, but as i read up on forums, and understood more and more of the game, it kinda occured to me that ole dude stole the stuff(yea i may never prove it, but what do u think???).

my story isnt the worst by far, but it opened my eyes and after i stopped throwing a temper tantrum(quit, went back to WoW) i started again bout a month or 2 ago(now i'm back in the mix and quit WoW again)

that's my story. .. what's yours?
