anybody ever been there and can tell a story ?

Hehe no, if I wanted a bunch of lazy bums to steal my drugs I could go to any of the nearby ghettos.

Seriously from what I've heard the tips about chaining everything down are on the money. Burning man was meant supposedly to show an example of how we can get by with peace love and anarchy or some such bs but what it really shows is that when everything is considered communal property a small fraction (the actual good functioning human beings who we wish would reproduce more) produce all the goods while the rest (the cesspool who we wish would all die before reaching sexual maturity) suckle off their teats.

But one cool thing about burning man is all the awesome machinery people build or take there :D But you can see all that in pictures without the aforementioned buying enough stuff to last ten times as many people as you have for the time allotted so that you still have enough left over after all the lazy hippies rob you.

^^ That may be but they're bad apples everywhere, and everything good will be blown up by idiots, but that does'nt mean the core experienced people that actually do the work are lazy (anything but!) or thieves or druggies.

Tonopah that was some great advice thanks and also amazing pictures. do you have any other cool pictures of any BM machinery/art/shots?

And Zamte i think the thing as a whole is stationary and the pedaling is just to move the Ferris wheel inside of the thing. I could be wrong though, you seem to know more than i do about that shieet.

Also, another fun H&H/Star Wars idea : )

I have lots of pictures but most are 35mm/medium format prints and need to be scanned. Oh, more stuff. The playa dust is as fine as talc and gets into/onto everything - seal ipods/GPS/cameras/phones in very large zip-lock baggies.

I'd say to anyone interesting in going - do it sooner than later. I doubt that this can go on forever - there are too many factors that weigh against it. All it takes is for someone to get [strike]killed[/strike] murdered or the BLM imposing new restrictions or some politician feeling left out of the $$$ loop.

Garzweiler is a place near Cologne where they still mine brown coal. You can drive around and take a look at those things. In a HUGE pit however they loose this WOW effect from the picture above.
