I'm surprised by some of the low LP values that got posted in that thread. How many months did w2 run?

edit: obviously not the 5m+ characters. But there are quite a lot of people posting stuff like 2-5mil which doesn't seem much for an entire world?

Well world 2 started somewhere at the end of september and ended in february I think. You also have to take into account that there was no character reset from world 1 to world 2, which might make the values look even more surprising. Hunting was far easier back then too, because bears gave double the lp they give now, animals spawned more often and combat was much quicker. You basically just punched a few times and the animals were done for. I had no problem gaining 500k lp in one hunting session.

I guess those were just players not really playing much and not being into combat at all. The fastest way to get a high lvl crafter was to first raise your ua and then hunt for the lp for your other skills. Avu would say those guys with 2 million lp just were noobs who didn't know how to gather lp efficiently (not that it is much of a difference now, but it has changed a little).

I did 1.5 mil lp in a day back in world 2. Full martial 2 strangling bears. Couldn't make any cheese due to unwanted visitors. But lp was a looot easier to gain back then. It was not uncommon to see 5 bears in half an hour and deer herds where everywhere. Last world it was totally possible to live in a forest and be some awesome fighter. Nowdays not so much. Right now the way to gain lp reliably is to do huge ass wheat fields but fuck that not going to bother with that shit.

I still don't get how you people could grind bears all day. Did you seriously have fun doing that?
