Dependent upon location, pricing and availability. I live outside a small city in far Northern California and the adsl out here blows (fuck you AT&T) and upper tier cable broadband connect runs ~90 dollars/month - no way am I willing to pay that much money for a residential connection. Yeah, I'm effin cheap. So what do cheap bastards like myself do? I just took a gamblers bet on a wireless system (Clearwire) which costs $30 a month/2 year contract + $40 for a two year unlimited nationwide internet voip phone. The connection is less than stable @ 90-168kbps but I have yet to fully optimize the antennae modem location/orientation.
