I came back from being afk, and was informed that the game and forums had been down for 3 hours and everyone else had been disconnected!
The only problem was, I was still logged in, sitting in my log cabin, afk, and completely able to move around and interact with things.

Yes, Jorb and I had a dev session tonight at his place, and in the middle of it all, my server (which runs the DNS) just stopped responding. When I got home again, it turned out to be, quite simply, turned off. I still have no idea why. I hope I don't have to find out. :)

Might be relevant yet again. For some reason, Im not sure what, my entire internet access just went down...except access to HnH. The only thing I can imagine is that this has something to do with the alteration to the system files. Anyone remember the file name that was modified (for a windows XP system)?
I KNEW I should have written that down.
Of course, I suppose it is also possible that the entire internet failed at once, and HnH is the sole survivor. heh.

The hosts file. I think it's in system32/drivers/etc or something like that.

Yup, i remember it was in system32/drivers. past that point I forgot. The link, I am sure, is incredibly helpful, but as I explained, I cant access any internet pages outside of HnH...
