The majority of successful leaders have been indirectly or directly responsible for the deaths of many people. What rational and objective explanation can you give to show these leader's have wronged if the acts helped progress his or her reign?

The thing is, you just can't mix up indirect and direct causes and that is exactly the reason of the post war courts that are made now for the Europeen wars, Croatia/Serbia being the last one, WW2 had it for german and others during Nurenberg court or whatever you call it guys. If you follow or deal diret order to murder, torture large populations of civilians during war you will have to deal with it in jail post war.
Now you can argue how much you want about the validity or anything about such Justice, but the fact is, if you make war in europe and kill and get civilians kill, you will have to pay for it.

The last was a Croatian general that took 24 years because he participate into the war assembly that decided to get read of civilian in a big city, the other general that wasn't there that day and didn't participate into that decision got free. I think the message of such court are pretty straight forward for everyone.
