lol probably not 500, but I think it should at least be enough so disposable alts can't be continuously spawned on the fly until a ram is destroyed. This has happened to me before and sometimes you can't kill them fast enough if a few people are spawning alts constantly when you're trying to guard :(

Yes, but the requirement of high strength would force people to risk a toon that they forcefed cheese so that it could break stuff (i.e. palisade) and make it harder for people to make stuff like Klaue's vault. It screws newbies, though, and isn't a permanent solution as later on in the game, there will be more 500+ strength characters.

in that case the the attackers would win every siege.
the palisade/brickwall is is the only way which people can defend themselves against the threat of the strong ones
so the defender have to start always in advantage, and according with game meccanics the impenetrable fortresses should exist

the most simply solutions against abuser can be the implementation of a different kind of ram, one more dryfast and tough, but with gigatons of mats required
so expensive to justify the use only in extreme cases

There are many possible compromises that could be made, such as "portable" ram, deals 0 points of damage itself, when used spawns a click-able image that one other can join in on, but would allow the destruction of brick walls. It would have to have a heavier materials cost than the sledge to reflect it being able to bash down brick walls, which afaik, isn't possible without a ram. This would still require two players to have at least ~1300 str each, pretty late game if you ask me.

Similar idea, but it's a lift-able siege object with a 12 hour "settling" time. Steep build requirements, but if stored properly it would never decay.

And we don't even want to get into the classics like catapults, trebuchets, and all our favorites, cannons.

Options are limitless, figuring out how to balance it all is the pain.

These hearthvaults are ridiculous btw, they are basically indestructable. While it is possible in theory that you might set up a ram there it will never ever happen that it can dry. But well, the whole raiding mechanics are too long-winded anyway. We started with walls made of paper in world 2 and since then there has been one fix put on top of the next till we got to the current system which either prevents sieges alltogether or heavily encourages bug abuse as seen in Winterfell lately.

What a smart guy this Klaue is, if only he could read what people have said looong before he did. Instead he just tries to bash me. I was very well aware of what he is trying to tell us here, just wanted to wait a bit and see if he can figure it out by himself that I posted the exact same thing quite a while ago.

Man, I'm going to have 700+ UAC after I reincarnate and I started playing week 5. I also gave almost all my flotsams to deadlift_pro. You know, you're a fucking shitty bad guy Klaue. Take some fucking courses in bad ideas, grief, and when to flaunt your unwarranted self importance.
