Ok guys, i have a conundrum O.O how in the world do i equip crossbows to my military squad, the waning merchants??? i see under leather and metal, it says "individual choice melee" in the same place under archery, it says nothing. i think when i was fiddling around, i accidentally took it out of that menu.

go to military(m) make sure you have the squad selected now equip(e) then choose a person specifically highlight them now Weapon(W) specific weapon, then choose the crossbow you want that particular dwarf to have. people say to keep around 200 bolts with them at all times because they shoot through those things like theres no tomorrow. as for ammo adjusting idk im just about to tinker with that myself as ive made improvements to fort defense by building little pillboxes outside ;P

weapon is greyed out. it wont let me select it. i select the squad, make sure im in equip, select a single dwarf, and weapon is greyed out. i have a ton of crossbows just hanging out in a stockpile.

no ammo? i honestly have no clue im only just now starting to get into rangers

also make sure they all use one type of ammo or itll bug out and theyll carry the wrong ammo.

yeah, i got the same crossbows and same ammo for them all. also, i have a problem. ive had a couple dwarves go berserk. the military handled them easily enough, but now i cant get anybody to carry the bodies away. ive been going to u/c/p/l, and highlighting "burial" ONLY... i did this on three dwarves. I have a stockpile for bodies of all kinds, and several coffins set up, but they arent doing anything with the bodies. they just sit there, generating myasma, and its going to cause my dwarves to go insane any time now.

have you gone to the build menu and actually built the coffins somewhere?

i dig out a place away from public and bury everyone there

i did. i build the coffins then (b) the coffins, then designated them as available for use by either dwarves or animals (pets, rather).

make sure you didnt dump the corpses or anything and that theyre not forbidden (k)
