That's like saying the inclusion of the LEATHER BALL encourages animal massacres.

1/100 of owner's LP and 1/2 owner's int for att.

To be fair murder and animosity are part of the game as well. Just as there should be incentive to farm, hunt, and gather, there should be a reason to murder, raid, and siege too. Land and resources are a nice draw but having other spoils is just grand.

Anyone murdering lowbie to mid level characters for their skulls isn't going to be doing it for the lp since there are a myriad of better ways to get more lp in less time with less attention on a more consistent basis with less work and risk. What you are going to have is desire to fight players on your level as that is actually beneficial to you.

To be fair this will spoil that balance (even more). And yes, it is because it will scale that it is a fuckup. No problem now, but hang onto your hat at every turn when your toon becomes a little bit more valuable.

Also, even though I don't personally encourage hermitting, it is part of the game. With this addition... I wish all hermits the absolute best of luck, you are fucked more than ever.

One of the foundation stones of civilisation (it seems to me) is that because murder is extremely risky and gives no direct benefit, other people are more valuable than the weight of their heads or the meat on their bones. They are valuable because they are other people capable of doing work which can benefit you.

IMO, given the existing "human factor" of killing people just to fuck them over because lol permadeath, the last thing H&H needs is another reason to kill people.

So if you take a skull and leave it for a short while, it starts to turn brown, and old looking. Like it is in a state of decay. Been studying for a few hours now, only 3% done.

The concern over skulls very much encouraging pking is actually quite true. It's a far more murderous version of pants collecting. People are killing to have a pile of skulls, no one really cares right now that they're curios as well.

Overall I think it's a really neat addition, but anything that encourages mass slaughter of players is going to hurt the game in the long run.
