I just want to ask the testers, who participated in tests in the autumn 2010. How much lp you have now?

Potjeh, could you stop your 'bots everywhere' accusations?

Mostly, yes. :D

Translated and sent to forum. Over 2 hundreds ppl already saw it. No fresh meat => no fun. Think it over.

What a surprize. If your russian friends have been reading the forums, they should have known of Jorb and Loftar's disposition long ago. But i guess consumerist approach is strong in Russia, where gamedev, especially indie, is not much to look at (sadly).

tl;dr AD and Russians are mad that they can't bot anymore.

Can we now lock this thread, or move it to Hel? Everybody knows you guys botted, it's done and over with, get over it.

As I understand it, they tried botting cone cows. What they didn't realize was that this learning system is all about pumping int, which you can't really bot that easily, so they couldn't believe that their strategy made them fall behind

Oh, rly? As a programmer I also was using arksu-client. So I have fishing bot(and worms digging bot also) and in brand new world I easilly did 25 int in a day even with this vanishing spots. Moreover. I still can use my bots for stat-grinding, making minimap-size fields of wheat, flax and pepper, mining serpent-like tunnels(why this bug is not fixed yet!). Which let me dominate with stats at least. You don't understand. Arksu client wasn't done just for lp grind. It was also to surpass routine, all this useless billion-clicks to feed silkworms or harvest fields. But everithing this is useless, cause developers have their favorite pets which they help all the time.

The humorous undertone was completely lost on you, I take it? :)

You wouldn't believe how bad is common English education in Russia. Or would you? :)

It's not like it's unbased. For example, here are some of Koya's Inner Party comments on the new system:
Koya wrote:
Gauteamus wrote:UI request:
Make the tabs in the character sheet accessible from the hotbar (make it possible to drag e.g. the Curio tab to the belt(s))
It only saves one click per page request, but I find myself wanting to look on the Curio inventory all the time.

Yes, it will make bot putting curiocities there easier :)

Koya wrote:My conclusions on new LP system:
Bad:
-all actions don't give LP, game becomes boring
-no motivation to build something
-curiocity production can be automated, and with all that offline LP from curiocity makes it even worse

Good:
-new items (curiocity)
-interesting way to LP (if to look that its not only way)

Doesn't that mean that only those who have access to gold and silver mines will ever learn jewelry recipes? That's going to make precious metals fairly useless as trade goods, and make top level gear completely out of reach of the vast majority of players.

Edit: Of course, people can trade gold and silver ores so that the recipient gets the chance to make a nugget of his own and learn the recipes. Jewelcrafting is already a specialized profession, so it won't change that much, protecting your crafter from harm will be even more important though.

That's a good thing.

You guys are so selfish.
Every flaw of mechanics when used by somebody is "broken mechanics and balance" and if used by you guys, then its "well known game mechanics and feature". You wanna be #1 and don't care about everything else. I see that you trying to "help" jorb and loftar make a balance, that leads to worse situation. At this moment system will make sure that only high developed villages will be getting LP fast, and difference between them and others will be bigger every day. If to add that they cannot craft some stuff, that will be really broken.
Problem with whole system is that many people can work on 1 character, both ways. They can work in support making foods and equip (now its curiocities) and also 4-5 people using characters in shifts. That lead to result when somebody who plays 5-6 hours a day, still 2-3 times weaker then such chars. With new system you need just to start production of curiocityes that gives a lot, and you can set macro of putting them in char. And that will led to 24/7 grond with small resourse spend.

Potjeh wrote:Or maybe, just maybe, the limiting factor will be resources. And stuff like silk and pearls may very well be comparable to the precious metals. Maybe even to the point where anyone who wants to be a major force will have to trade the top tier curiosities to newbs for silk and pearls, or even for food. Besides, with the new mining system you can't monopolize precious metals anyway.

And what good that resourses are limit... they are limited.
Silk is made by boot in any quantity, like most products.
I saw how major factions selling top resourses and other stuff, nobody do it.
They couldn't LP, they couldn't make concurence, so they will be forced off the precious metals spot.

Like I said I saw all this system much more different.
Instead of fighting with grinding, it become more grind...

That, combined with this exclusive photo of one of AD's world 4 bases (the guys on the right, with shovels on barrels are the interesting part):

I don't think it's such a leap of faith to assume that AD tried botting this world.
