Actually this was inspired by my village being screwed over by W4 after balance updates made us nearly unable to get LP. And so, I said "Fuck this man. And people who like this system should play eve online... You get exp there just for having account paid monthly...
This new system suits well for growing army of zergs... nothing spectacular, but a lot in quantity in same time.
For effective play, now you need 1 character for each skill. So entering with survival, taking curious, logoff, entering carpenter, taking curious, logoff, entering jeweler...
I know a lot of players that working that way.
Also I know they just putting curious in one place with bots standing there and putting it into study window, so no need to do it by hands and make most LP possible at some point.

I played W3 and W4 because I liked the system of lp for every action player doing, so person that building a village will have also LP, less than somebody working on rising LP but definitelly still got it. Scripts using wasn't removed, they just evolved.
Like I said many times, I can explain exactly what small changes need to be done to kill all possible botting in game. Well, devs think other way... so why should I fight with them :) Its their game, and I don't gonna spend time playing something I don't like. And most of all I don't gonna spend time building some large city with over 150k bricks knowing that some will whine that their ass was kicked, and this is broken game mechanics... and need a wipe to start once again :)

it may not be a perfect LP system but surely it's better than the bucketbots of w4, do you disagree?

Bucketbots and other things could be killed other way... still what done is done, system changed. I don't like it, so like I said, don't plan to spend time here.
Xsyon is also not a best thing to play. Same as H&H have a great pottential and good future, if it will be going right way.

i'm genuinely curious to know what other ways you think botting could be prevented, or if you have an idea for a better LP system

Just look at actions that people use to bot, analize and use what you saw there to fix... for example...
soil digging - make soil limited like clay, so 5 min, and no LP
stone pawing - make impossible to lay stone if tile have been laid with stone
map making - localmap after writed to regionmap, destroyed, so paper spending so great that its non productive
bucket grinding - make strings more often to fing and put them in requirement
woodcutting -
loom - make objects give lp only after they fully built
mining - remove zig-zag digging, or add non-breakable random tiles to stop zig-zaging

Don't think I need to continiue, there are 20-25 more :) And still system is different right now, so it didn't matter.

I just tired of the need to prove anything to anybody, so I don't gonna answer you on that. Your role as bastard and bad guy are easy to play. It takes less effort.
Mine are more complicated. It needs dedication and time. Other way all that great alliance will vanish and break to parts.
Also I'm not a fan of wipes...
