I would like to know a bit more about the scripts please.

Just how much freedom will the player be allowed?
Will you start with and be able to obtain set templates as a player... and can you tweak those? If so, to what extent?
And/Or, will the player be able to script 'from scratch' with a provided interface/tool?

From what I'm reading on their forums, their scripting system ranges between pretty freeform Javascript for most things:

to more limited capabilites for the crafting system:

Bump:

Thought some of you might like to help out with the topic below:

http://forum.topiaonline.com/viewtopic. ... =115#p1037

It would be useful to get the views from all sides, those who practice griefing and those affected by it and, of course, input from the pvp champs. :)
I know most of you have left now, or only here part-time, Lady Goo, Alex, Jordan and Ravian have moved over to Salem, Ainran have disbanded and most of Winterfell have gone but I see you all pop in here from time to time and it would be great to get your thoughts on the subject.

For those of you who haven't checked Topia out yet, the community is steadily growing and there's a lot more discussion on the forums, people are forming trade and pvp groups, guilds and one guy who wants to form a wolf pack, lol. (You will be able to play the creatures in Topia as well as your human chars). There is the oppertunity to learn scripting, a prominent feature of the game and the developer is keen to help you learn and will provide tutorials to aid you. I've already started learning and it's no-where near as difficult as i thought it would be.

Anyway, take a look and see what you think. :)

Also, the bastard keeps telling me to test out the sandbox but he doesn't provide links. The topics by the Devs aren't stickied in an announcements subforum, and the current forums are just a clusterfuck.
