How large of a starting area did you pick? Depending on your PC it can become rather resource heavy past even just slightly larger than the default size.

Yeah, 5x5, switched to 4x4, 3x3 seems to last slightly longer but lags down when I hit 60-70 dwarfs as well. Considering you need a lot more to even get a king or whatever, yeah.

I suppose that's the price we pay for being unable to decipher "The Matrix"

I don't know about you but I had a hard enough time with the graphic version, if it weren't for my pal DDDsDD999 hooking me up with a good newbie tutorial I might have never learned.

I started with default ascii graphics because other tilesets just look ugly. Also stop dragging turns its taking forever now.

I'm not going to be able to go. Was hoping jesus would put up his download sooner, but it's taken too long and now I can't. Up to next person in list if they want to just go off of magicman's version.

took fucking 24 days from last turn. Ill take over from last save.

First impressions:
People who built that fort had no idea what are they doing.
What a fucking clutter, 1 level layout stuck between those caves, over sized farm plots and half of dwarves are injured and resting.
It was really tempting to drown everything preferably in magma, but I tried to sort out labors and going to move everything below caves with more space to expand. Current layout is a suicide to work on and beyond repairing.
Going to continue tomorrow.

Thanks. Just go on without meh.
I'm sorry for taking so long. My life has taken an unfortunate turn and I havn't had access to a computer to finish up, and the computer I had the save on broke.

Just slave the drive! All you need is a desktop, then pull out the sata wire, and power wire out of the dvd drive if there aren't extra power wires(its common to have no sata power wires). Then you will see the contents of the drive on the computer. But whatever, just get the succession going, go ahead dzedajus if jesus wont give the save.

The first few months were uneventful except for that tree hugging elven caravan with their flimsy wooden shits. Made some booze to last for at least half a year until I migrate most of the stuff below. Started digging meeting room and space for food production. Most of the dwarves are cured with the help of 3 dedicated doctors. Some random fisherdwarf made limonite drum and it a was possession, another useless artifact.
Everything is still cluttered and most of the stuff is shoved into fucking bins, god I hate them. Is this some kind of a test on how long player can last before losing sanity???

Its summer!
Nothing much happened besides 1 dwarf is released from hospital and spaming announcements with "too injured" messages. Now only weaponsmith left in hospital.
Most of the dwarves don't have any useful skills and i haven't attracted any migrants so far.
Going to set up steel factory.

And praise the Amrok! We are going to have proper workshops with quantum stockpiles 1 level above.

Hopefully things will go smoothly and i will finish my turn in middle of next week.
