Jigoku Shoujo and because of the comparisons with a bunch of great shows I think I'll have to watch this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IMmOiT3j94 (the japanese sub has a critical mistake but you probably dont care.)

please remember that the main story rather moves *very* slow and you may find it repetitive till halfway through. (and a few episodes are jokingly retarded, but i think you probably watch a whole season before judging it, so im not too worried.)
let me hear what you think after watching!
Gin-Tama
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1627TlX ... u.be&t=18mi have only watched a few out of hundreds (for some reason it always aired on saturday nights in my area, and i didnt get to watch it often) but knew the song and the pv and your hints helped

it was originally from weekly Jump magazine, so yeah i can see it parodies many of Jump related manga.
i really like the voice of this girl singer and i think she is talented, but maybe not gifted enough...sadly she has only made hits when she sang anime songs.

my next tune is an anime legend, especially overseas (supposedly)
however, the original tune has only those videos with obvious title and pics, so im posting two links that the theme song was based on. whoever watched the movie and remembers the unique sound can probably tell... i hope?!

② is a traditional music of bali, called jegog, a form of gamelan.
the original music group (or performance group) plays cross-cultural music and they are not well-known, but they are known for kecak festival in tokyo held in summers.hints
1.
back then, the word "anime" was still mostly used by japanese only and most english speakers called it "cartoon" before this movie, and those who knew what i meant always had to correct me to call it "cartoon" or "animation" instead. after this movie was released overseas, however, more people started recognizing "anime" as art, and not just something only for kids. im not gonna say this is the best anime movie ever, but it changed the anime world like a big ban and many got influenced by this legendary work.2.
post-apocalyptic cyber punk, super-natural, originally seinen-manga, most likely R18+ or harsher. hollywood has been trying to remake live action version for more than a decade now... are they actually trying? LOL
