Which reminds me, how does Wurm handle that? Is PvP universal? Can you dick around all you want? Is there some other system?

PVP is universal but is not made the foundational be-all of Wurm. PVP and raids are done as often as any other game that allows it however they do have alot of policing as has been mentioned, and Greifing/harrassment is not allowed and is defined under their global rules. They make a distinction between griefing and pvp. Towns/settlements have protection though, so players have defense from griefers which find Wurm not a very nive place to play, they have Deed Guards which can be drained after a certain amount of time at which point the attackers can try to take what they can before the guards respawn. You can get people to come out of the deed for a 1 on 1 (their version of a claim or vilage authority) by messing with their out of authority belongings (farms, mines ect). However if the person is overwhelmed can always run back to into their deed which will respawn the guards to protect them from the attacker.

So yes they allow pvp on wurm, they just make a logical and reasonable distinction between pvp and griefing, and they do not have mechanics which allow the kind of griefing such as jumping from behind a tree and perma-killing someone's character with 1 hit and no defense for it.

Also, to maximize player comfort (and obviously profit and well being of the devs/game in general) Wurm has a non pvp enabled server to accomodate the sandboxers who do not wish to be involved with pvp.

But not impossible, we are based on myth,
doesn't all have to be accurate ;P

And i like that bigger walls thing, but then
you can't get at helms deep becuase you'd
have to make it so you'd need siege weapons
and then you'd have to cover the workers while
they assemble it and with archers all over
that's probly not gunna happen though with
way more people that would be freaking
awesome to be a part of... however with
perma death it'd be a load of alts clicking the
build button, and then the bodies block it and
nothing can get done.

I agree with the sentiment but only if it's made possible to do so.

Seconded

Thirded, however from previous responses the Dev's don't seem to agree that it's a problem.

Also, this.

Any reasons for this beside "because i dont have the time and will to grind myself, so i dont want other to be more powerful than me"?

I can think of 1 at least. Let's see, how to word it.
"because I don't give a rats ass how powerful or weak other's characters are, nor how they play, but I do believe there should be some safe guards and reasonable protections/defenses for your gaming work against assholes who harrass, greif or abuse with these characters because they don't have the imagination or desrie to do anything but piss on everyone elses choice of gameplay."

what was it that you yourself said, you're bored?, you done everything there is to do, you don't want to hunt for HQ resources cause it's too boring, (side note : so you've already got lvl 200 chickens, cows and sheep, or whatevr the Q cap is?, ya know , those new thing the devs added for people to have something new to do?) SO basically in one of your previous posts you indicated (my extrapolation, feel free to elaborate) you have basically nothing to do because you CHOOSE to not desire to do anything else in the game that is currently offered? So now all there is to do is pvp (which it has also been indicated is not fun for those like yourself because no one strong enough to take you on) which leaves nothing but griefing weaker characters?

So if this extrapolation is anywhere close to the foundational reasoning of the griefers, is it a fair game mechanic to allow those who feel that way to destory other people's gameplay just because they (the griefers) choose not to "find fun" in the other avenues the game has to offer? Personally, if it were mine, I would not want people in my game who did not "find fun" in the working play mechanics I had devised but were here only to grind a murder character to grief other s who WERE interested in and finding fun in making super high quality chickens out of the mechanic I just added.

SO I guess, looking at it all that way, maybe it isn't those care-bear farmers finding fun in HQ chickens who don't like to have months of work destroyed by murderer who is "bored" that should "Get The Fuck Out" (as has been so politely stated to anyone who complains), but instead perhaps those who honestly state they "have nothing else else to do in this game because they're bored and there's nothing else to do" who should be taking a break and playing something else? I don't know, that just seems a more obvious logical path to me. Where the idea of "get the fuck out" is concerned anyway.

Rhia, if you spent less time writing
your long ass posts no one reads
anyway and more time doing just
about ANYTHING in game you'd
probly not be whining and you'd get
an ice cream cone of your own. You
don't want his ice cream anyway and
you know it! ;)
