Soviets' main failing was not socialism, not by a long shot. USSR was a quasi-socialist state, and it was the numerous digressions from proper socialist model (like democracy, for instance) which sank it. That and focusing on warfare after a revolution and the damage of the War. The Scandanavian nations lean heavily towards socialistic model and are among the most competitive economies in the world, if not record-holders for most unnecessarily wealthy people.Saxony4 wrote:Kertis wrote:Unfortunately, the great Soviet Union collapsed. That's what happens when you run a country under socialism. You would think that all of those small arms the Soviet Union mass produced and spit out to their puppet states that they would have more money. Also entering a cold war with a WWII ally made no sense at all. Should have just been friends and made trade agreements instead of being paranoid of each other.
