I am Jon. I am a peaceful, non-macroing player. I am honest and hardworking; I have friends who could say so. I'm also not in SA, so I don't know where this nonsense about "infiltrating" anything came from. Until the Goons joined the game, I lived just far enough away from the RoB to avoid ground zero of griefing. Then they moved about a minute's jog away from me, ruining the forest spawns, claiming the mines, and attacking me while I fished in the one pond nearby. They have griefed and stolen from my friends and neighbors, causing most of them to move to the far edges of the world. I got lonely. If you think the Goons have been playing clean, you haven't been attacked by one of their killing parties. Good for you.

Today's destruction of the Zarekim settlement by Sami, Wanderer, or WHOEVER did it was news to me. I was thrilled to know that someone had killed JTG/Goku, as he was the only one of the group who was able to draw my blood. Yes, the Goons drew FIRST blood while I was fishing. It was a gang attack. Regardless, I tracked their filthy thief stink to the new settlement, and exacted justice. I struck a blow for myself, my property, my friends and theirs, and all the free people of the Hearthland who have had ENOUGH of the griefing in this game. I struck a blow to show the evil players, and those who aid and house them, that there is at least one left who is not afraid to stand up to the growing darkness.

To those trackers and rangers that would cut me down for my actions, I do not judge you. In this place, justice is only what we as individuals can create - I dealt my own justice as surely as you seek your own form. If you think you'll achieve anything, brace yourself for disappointment. When you kill my offline body, I will be naked and at maximum Tradition (which I got WITHOUT macros). You'll only be cleansing me of the foulness of tonight, and I will awaken with all my stats and gear intact.

I hope I do not encounter such players. If you've ever been robbed, attacked, griefed, had your enjoyment of the game sullied by cowards who find ways to exploit the game at every update and iteration, you'll understand what I've done.

When 50% of the player base are all one group, you're upset that at least 50% of the crimes are done by that group?
JTG was not even in the new town, and what of the players who had joined that day? What had they done wrong if they had just started the game?
Until the game is fixed so that one person cannot kill 30 people without issue, the population will never get bigger than a small group of elitists who have been playing longer than you.
Losing goons as players is terrible for any dev, we've already paid 10$ for a forum so we're the most likely to pay if the game ever becomes P2P or even donate if it does not.

It controls how high the numbered skills will be after you reincarnate, how much LP you recover from your other skills, and how high your stats will be.

Hell, we still can't log in because he's sitting at camp killing people before their clients even finish loading. Even if you get a chance to attack him, it wouldn't matter, he's untouchable. Can't land a hit, you're going to get one-shotted. Completely, 100% utterly pointless to even try. One guy wrecking dozens of peoples hard work and there's no way to retaliate.

How long has he been there anyway? I logged out when he first came around 9:30pm EST and it's 1:30am EST and he's still there killing players who log in, four hours later. It's a bit of a shame really, I think a lot of us really like this game but not being able to actually contribute to the game world because some guy has an axe to grind and can take us all on without even breaking a sweat is sad. I think most of us were hoping to build a nice little place but at this rate I don't think it's going to happen since it's so easy for anyone who has been playing for more than a week to have more learning points than 10 of us. (hello picking up branches for 1lp at a ridiculous rate before it was fixed)

Now if there was actually a way for us to fight back I don't think we would be whining in here but there's none so, here I am. We were just hoping to build things with our friends and all we got is some muscular dude punching us in the forehead over and over again :(

He's about as much a goon as you are, if you put ten bucks in -- he has full access to all our private forums and IRC channels, even if he doesn't play with us, which means that if he wants to smash our shit, we can't stop him.

Ok, he sounds like a real jerk then. You should ask for a ranger to step in and help you, contact Blaze or Raeph, or start a new thread about it. Using this thread to complain about it is a bad idea and will just confuse people as to what you're on about.

I've honestly never seen this Jon character in game, nor any of his forum posts, so either he's been playing silently for a long time, or he's fairly new which will make him easy pickings for an experienced ranger, just get em to find the murder scents and then hunt him down.

Yeah, we're planning on asking Blaze for help, he seems pretty cool. I don't really know how to contact him, but I'm hoping he'll show up on IRC or something, heh. The problem with asking other people for help is that we really are all newbies. I hear Rift was offered 100 steel to purge our first town -- hah, we can't even muster up 10 wrought iron reliably, and we have had people offer to help us for a fee. Unfortunately, we can't really afford any fees right now. I think we're trying to work something out by offering other stuff, or whatever.

Yeah, one of the reasons I was biased against the Goontown was because it was built on the corpse of some friends`s settlement, which JTG griefed them into leaving over a course of weeks. I`ve seen Jon in the area, so his story checks out at least that far. I never heard anyone living in that area (or anywhere else, for that matter) complain about anything Jon did, either, so I`m led to believe his story about being attacked and retaliating.
That said, couple points for Jon:
1) Goontown wasn`t destroyed. We killed JTG/Goku and recovered some of laketowns stolen wrought. No other goons were harmed in the making of this raid, and there was little to no collateral damage.
2) Most of the damage done to the previous occupants of the area was done by JTG BEFORE the coming of the goons. It sounds like you`ve gotten the people that attacked you, IMHO letting them back on to play and seeing if they have learned their lesson would be the best course of action at this point. Especially if they have moved to the edge of the map.
3) regardless of what you decide, I`m staying out of this one. Sounds like this is a cause and effect event, not random griefing.

Edited for clarity--confusing wording

Easiest way to contact him would be to just PM him. I don`t think he is on now tho.

Wherever you heard that from I doubt it's accurate... 100 steel is an insane amount, laketown has never had more than 60 at a time and we lost all that when Rift left.
