the feel's even worse when you smelt limited amounts of precious ore, for example, from a raid.

Okay I see people do this all the time. Why do you palisade inside the brick wall isn't it more useful to have the palisade for protection? I mean I know pali-bashers exist but still.
If you have the palisade outside someone can bash the palisade and then build a small pocket with a gate inside of it up against your brick wall and then place a ram inside. Unless you yourself can palibash, you can't do anything about it without a ram.

Also some information about skulls for people who are wondering.
1 developed skull+2blocks=skull pole
10 developed skull+20 bones+4 silk=skull throne
No idea about the drinking mug yet.
Things we have found out:
700klp 34 base int 13 base psy hearthtling skull will be an undeveloped.
400klp 46 base int 10 psy hearthling skull will be developed.
So I guess when a character has 40+ int it will be developed. Lp and psy doesn't count. I'd like to hear someone elses test results on this.
