Games are finished. Megam8s won. We are finally accused of being prejudiced! Stay tuned for details.

Games are officially over! Yesterday we did two last competitions. Only 4 people showed up (technically 5, but LoW was standing afk the whole thing). I was going to give megam8s some special prize for the best organized team, since they always were there in time and full strenght, but dearest Snowflake wasn't feeling so well and missed the Day 3. I probably wont post video, because half of it is me following Dert during foraging (there was no way to follow and record everyone obviously) and the most entertaining part of the whole video is Ozzy accusing megam8s of cheating and judges of being prejudiced.

Hard to tell was it success or failure. I think it was both at the same time. Lets consider it as an opportunity to work out mistakes and learn from experience. People showed enough interest, so Games have a chance to become a good tradition.
Day 1 was great, Days 2 and 3 had potential to be really fun too, but failed due to lack of participants. I will make a long list of all our mistakes and things to improve later for future hosts (if there will be any). I'm also willing to share the arena with such people, I won't take care of its authority though.

I'd like to thank every participant, donator, spectator and everyone who ever posted in this thread, you helped to keep it up.
Some special thanks:
Thank you Vaku for your beautiful signature. Thanks to anderako and LoW for using it. Thank you for the wiki link and generous donation, borka!

Thank you megam8s for always being ready in time and not causing any problems!

Thanks for being a great judge and security, Cornbread. Special thanks to Anon9k for all the time and work you donated, the whole event wouldn't be possible without that guy <3. And thank you both for donations.

Thanks to Ballisticmeat for his yummy bread, donation and general help.

Thanks to Tonky for generous metal donation, her support and faith in this event. Every candle burned because of you.

Thanks to ramones for the most generous donation in points equivalent. I remember you asked me to be anonymous and I'm sorry for that :D

I am very gratefull for all the not mentioned donators aswell: Arcanist, romovs and, well, me :p
Thanks to everyone, who helped with building: Anon9k, Emerald, Arcanist, Faust, romovs, thomas. And thanks to bukake for his sweet bread!

I'm very sorry if I forgot to mention someone, please don't be shy and correct me, because you earned that.

I think its amazing how well you organised this and managed to get people involved. it takes a ton of time and patience. I'm just sorry we weren't able to participate in the games. The village was interested in doing so, but rl commitments and time difference issues were a struggle to meet times and days of the events. A definite success though :)

Ok, I'll try to summarize all the thoubles we had, mistakes we made and potential improvements for the next time as I promised.

1. Start with strict conditions.
We couldn't do that, because it was the first time and we had to check out people's interest and ask for their opinion all the time. But organization would be much better, if we had all the needed solutions right away and didn't edit OP all the time. So prepare strict general rules and time decision before you'll start invite people to join. Just pick the time convinient for as much timezones as possible and you're good.
2. People can not read.
Really. They will be asking already answered questions 10 000 times and even after 10 000 answers they will get something wrong. For example, we had two people, who were shocked and left games, when I asked them for accounts details before stage 1, even though everything about accounts sharing was posted few times in this thread and mentioned in skype chat every day. Also 90% of participants were using wrong account name (without FHSG in it), it was a pain for us, but we were understanding about that and didn't force participants to change it.
Inability to read was fine, when it was 10 people, but when it became 40 signed up + a few people too lazy to be signed... Well, you can guess, that wasn't so easy anymore. What to do about that? Create 2 chats, 1 for discussions and 1 for announcements only with everyone muted except for hosts. And make reading people's responsibility, there is no need to babysit.
3. The prize fund.
Make participation fee. Small one, like 1-2 pearls and option to work it out for poor hermits (like pave 100 tiles or bake a chest of bread). We had the whole prize fund of donations, but I think this is wrong, especially since most of participants did not donate anything or help (correct me if I'm wrong, but only Arcanist and Ballisticmeat among active participants helped and donated +EC signed up members helped and donated a lot, but unfortunately weren't able to play). [Participants, don't get me wrong here, not blaming everyone else, just saying this system should be fixed]
Also I think prize fund was too big, didn't count exactly, but winners got about 10 000 points worth goods. Prizes for each competition were 1 bar of nice-ish quality bronze for the 3d place, 1 bar of silver for the 2d place and 2 nuggets of gold for the first place. Should work on better balanced reward system.
4. Make a jury.
Create some kind of committee to solve all the cheating issues. Invite 5-7 not participating respected people from different factions and just make a vote each time someone is complaining about unfair game or judgement.
5. Make it happen in one day.
Just pick the funniest 5-6 challenges. The ones I enjoyed the most were marathon, musical chairs and moths. Swim&catch was fun too, because half
of participants drowned :P It is pretty slow though.

I feel like I forgot to mention a lot of things, will fix it later, if my memory will start working or I'll be reminded.

I think you would be a good candidate for host. You're well known in here and have experience of throwing tournaments.

I could provide the area for the events, but I don't think I'll be able to host at the moment.
I'm a full-time college student in finals atm. Maybe in the summer :)
