Sticky Bombs: Does not throw very far (Max range of ~5 tiles), moves slow, ~2 tile blast radius in all directions, sticks to targets.

They're not great for combat but are amazing when you want to mine things =)

Also, don't double jump to tried to negate falling damage right now. Bug making it so you still take full damage even if you double jump right before you land.

Get grappling hook and never receive falling damage again;

Shoot DOWN so that your grappling hook hits the floor before you do, by some impossible feat of wizardry and void logic hitting the floor faster negates falling damage.

That is probably a wise decision until the bug is fixed. I surely know it's going to be a big change for me unless I want to spam worlds so I can get a lucky horseshoe. Swimming and Jumping are well in-grained in my Terraria mentality.

Ivy Whip was always pretty god tier when doing that, grappling hook is about the same as far as this is considered (with whip you don't need skills to know how far the drop is though).

Yes, that was the problem, as Burgingham pointed out. If you were willing to do a suicide rush for hellstone, then it was faster and easier to throw your corpse at the underworld a few dozen times than to fight Cthulu or Skeletron to move towards the equipment that they offer.
That said, I'd take Necromancer Armor over Hellstone Armor any day for that juicy +30% movement speed increase. The only time I'd need the extra defense is if I was in Hell anyway.

Shadow armour will increase the speed at which you mine as well, movement speed is pretty meh, use shiny red balloon and shoot ahead of you with grappling hook to kind of caterpillar along somewhere, even works for water (works especially good for water because the hook moves just as fast as before).

Grappling hooks in generally are OP if you practice with them you will be able to use them as basic movement instead of walking at all.

I say shiny red balloon because it becomes easier to shoot the max distance of your hook, double jump could be useful as well but I'm using 3x obsidian, regrowth + balloon (trust me the regrowth will come in handy when you're being spammed by fire imps and the occasional fireball gets past the pick axe shield).

Managed to get 250 Hellstone easily just be digging to the bottom of a small map and going horizontally, since fire imps wont shoot from below you and the worms don't seem to spawn a great deal down there.

Also finished with this game, it's about a days content unless you want to collect all items which would be 2 Days (floating islands are easy to find on smaller maps).

I've seen more addicting/fun games at a cheaper price tag but it gets updates at least.

Glad to see this thread is still around. I didn't want to remake a new one so I thought I would post in this one.

It finally happened. By sheer luck I found a cheap copy of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and I was able to install it on my Mac using Boot Camp.

What does this mean?

It means I can play Terraria now, and I am!

Now onto the point of my post: Is anyone here hosting a multiplayer server that I could possibly join for Terraria? Just wondering.

Ah... no. No thank you.
