Not even by some save code engeneering?

Well, seems no. I must find some fun way to lose now.

Edit:
"Kol Indomkulet, broker has been possessed!"
Time for some lulz.
It looks like he summoned some demon, killed everybody and is freaking ecstatic about it (1000 mood pts). o0

Bonus edit:
Any ideas why pressing < turns on "moving records" and > doesn't work at all?

Being possessed means that he's going to create an artifact item and become a legendary crafter of the respective craft. This is generally chosen based on his highest skill and he picks the materials based on what is closest to him. Failure to create the item drives him insane. Fey moods are similar but you don't become legendary.

Wasn't aware you could summon demons, that must be new.

Check your key bindings to see what is doing what and why.

Nah wasn't really deamon, in fact something else stroke the fortress - I am not sure if it was a wave of 15 imigrants suffocating me to death or just some wild animals. I just abandoned since it wasn't well planned fortresss and everybody just idled for too long.

The thing that made me think it was deamon was just that either after mining too deep or by this possessed dude some annonuacement appeared saying that some evil creature is going to haunt me or something.

To the key problem I am not sure wtf it is but it happened again bugging my controlls, also they didn't match with the settings. Anyways it seems that engineering with LNP fixes the problem.

Another question - may I ask.
How do I examine wounds of my dwarfs?

create a hospital (beds and tables right next to the beds. containers for cloth, splints, crutches, plaster, thread, and soap) these are the basics but you will want to make traction benches too when you can. then designate a zone using (i) to make a hospital. assign a chief medical dwarf in the nobles menu and from the status screen (z) you will be able to monitor your dwarfs well being as well as treat those that are injured.

Zou, will I be able to see (this way) if he for example if that (e.g.) bleeding comes from right arm cut or from severed left leg?

Also, is channel and drawbridge + crossbowman tower good idea for beggining defence? (ahh, reminds me ol' good stronghold :>)

Ya that would work great. If you have the spare manpower, then training your dorfs to use a catapult or ten can be a great way to really wreck enemies.

expanding on what teck said make a 1 tile garbage dump near a catapult pointing away from any traffic anywhere and dump a mega ton of stone into the pile. just have them fire the catapult into nothing like crazy EZ training

Here's something for you all that are having a hard time figuring the game out (and it's not an easy one to learn):

http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=110480.0

One of the community members at Bay12 recently published a book through O'Reilly called "Getting Started with Dwarf Fortress" with the tag "Learn to play the most complex video game made." I haven't checked it out yet myself, but so far the people that have gotten it have loved it just for the writing style and humor in it, even if they pretty much knew what was in there.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
