having an issue for men on one hand doesn't negate the need for feminism on the other hand

I get the need for people to stand up for each other but if you're only basis of discrimination is gender, Genders will be discriminated against. So don't trash MRA's unless you're willing to give up feminism.

discrimination is not only gender related, and I personally don't fully follow secular/western feminist ideals especially a lot of the stuff around Europe and the US now, because it doesn't represent me as a woman. Gender isn't the only issue, it's one of many people face everyday and what a woman who is an ethnic minority, an immigrant, lesbian, have learning difficulties and whatever else will face different difficulties and issues to one another. it's a mixture of problems.

And MRA's, which I had to google, aren't my issue, some women may like that kind of mentality and lifestyle and seek men who are like that. it's their issue, not mine.

It's an issue when radical feminists do their darnest to block any discussion of men's issues and the mainstream feminists don't condemn them. Like that time they pulled the fire alarm at a men's right conference at the University of Toronto.

I did some work on gender studies (no it wasn't my major, just an interest) and actually, masculinity, and mens issues are very much part and parcel of womens concerns. believe it or not, most feminists aren't lesbians, they do enjoy engaging with men, and having relationships which are sexual and meaningful and eventually settling down with some guy, and most are more than happy to support and take on board issues which will effect their partners.
You can't really want rights for women by removing rights from men, it's not how it works, and those radical feminists are just full of hate, same as you get those crazy ass guys who will use and abuse women to keep them in line. it always works both ways, don't limit your understanding of a big movement to a group who probably do it more harm than good.

That sums it up perfectly. Its not just feminism either. Unfortunately the most vocal are often the most radical.

The radicals have way more acceptance in the mainstream than they should. And really, if a movement is after equality, why name it after one gender?
