Played HnH -> Salem in development Hype -> Salem Released People love/hate game -> Play neither HnH or Salem for some time -> Return new devs for Salem looks interesting and different, New HnH hype.

Probably gonna play Salem now till the new HnH. Why's everyone mad? Is my question.

I'm not gonna lie to you: there have been some... questionable decisions that turn people off by the devs. But as far as commitment and development, they are truly the best fit for the game. Salem is now unique, full of contents, out of Beta, and playable. I remember us having to go through the darkest days with no hope left, then they showed up, turn things around, finish the game and release it. Isn't it beautiful? The fact that they troll us here and there doesn't matter much. The whole game is already a big troll.

Yep and for many it is now too late. Personally I know I could hold a grudge until the day I die, not so sure about others. Not that I'm saying that is a good quality to have or anything. It wasn't just that I was "turned off" by the devs, they seriously left a lasting impression upon me that I will not soon forget and quite frankly it leaves me with very little interest in ever returning to try the game no matter the additions they make or how amazing you might claim it to be.

I am excited for Haven 2 and to be honest I hope it blows Salem out of the internet water.

Well, I was there when it happened to you Kaios, so I short of understand, really. But aside from that, if people just want to play casually and won't speak up too loud, they can have a good time with this game.
Salem is not going to be blown away by HnH, I am strongly confident that it will thrive. If anything, HnH will support Salem more than hurt.

That's a complex question that has multiple dimensions.
1) The OP is hated very deeply by a lot of people.
2) The new Devs have alienated many players
3) Many Haveners are still bitter about development time on this game that was lost to Salem
4) This thread was presented as a sale to attempt to steal players. Indie games and indie communities are closeknit. We all know each other. There's a difference of presenting your game as 'hey check out this cool thing we can play in addition to your game!' and 'This game is better than yours, play it instead.' You'll always get a negative reception with the latter but an even nastier one in an indie game community.
5) Salem's community was, frankly, vile and left a negative feeling on many people.

Churn all of those together into a single cocktail and you get an upset thread.

For the record I never say that Salem is better than Haven. Not sure about Claeyt.
But personally I love the two game. HnH is why I come to Salem.
