if trolls throw stones, how where u able to kill him?

We shot him and ran up the ladder. It throws them quite fast after he realizes he is trapped. Maybe after 4-5 seconds after you aggro and he realizes he is trapped. Have to be quick.

This means you cant have boulders to prevent troll attacks in your mines. If you do your miner dies after the troll gets stuck behind the stones. I'm unsure how the cavin affects are calculated but they are on top of you and have no cooldown before they hit so its instant hits. Means you cant run away from a trapped troll unless you run up the ladders in your mine. A house might also work but trolls instant bash them so dono if it will work.

Next time I want to test out a few things about the cavins affects. But we killed this one quite fast before doing any tests so hard to say exactly how the mechanics work.
