To be fair, you got sniped by a sling, something which is negated by leather armor. I'm not saying it's fun to get killed by things like that. But you should probably pay attention and wear armor while talking to strangers.

Also, what kaios said.

If you say you enjoy all the other aspects, then why bot the only parts you enjoy?

Which leads me back to my original question of, if you dislike the game that much why play at all?

I dislike game mechanics which fundamentally disrupt aspects of the game that I like. For example, I find shooting through palisade walls to be game breaking and nonsensical. No one is going to spend time building up protect for characters just to have them destroyed so easily. The reason I enjoy character development is because of the larger social, economic, and political aspects that accompany it. When you destroy the base for having a complex social, political, and economic system, you destroy what makes the game worth playing. In essence, I'll stick to playing Heroes of Newerth if I want PvP without the other parts.

I fundamentally disagree. You shouldn't have to wear armor while behind a wall. I suppose we can agree to disagree, but at least you acknowledge that it isn't fun. Additionally, I didn't notice the attacker standing outside of my walls. Perhaps a warning PM would have been more appropriate? Nevertheless, what's done is done (unless there is a magical resurrection from the development gods).

lol

So you refuse to do what every other player that actually stuck with the game has done because you can't handle the loss of your player.

Getting shot through walls? Leave more space inside and wear some fucking armour. What a horrible thing it is to have to actually put thought in to your own protection.

Yes it's true palisades aren't that safe, but you can build a brick wall for a reason you know.

As far as I know no exploits (walljumps) have been used this world so don't see what your issue with that is.

Just quit so we can forget about you already you baby.

I'm not even saying it's ideal, i'm just saying that with how it is, you should pay close attention, even within your own walls.

If they change the fact that you can shoot through walls it will actually put the nail in the coffin for making ranger bows 100% useless. Either way, it really all comes back to pay the hell attention while you're playing a game with permadeath.

I refuse to accept such a pointless death that makes no sense (getting shot through a wall).

Why don't you stop trying to make character attacks against me, and address my points regarding the game system fundamentally being flawed?

I'm not disagreeing with you that paying attention in this game is important, but I am saying that there should be a sanctuary and that senseless deaths are stupid. As for nurfing rangers, I think we can agree that the combat system needs an overhaul all together. Again, there is no sport in sniping people who are typing, and you can't hit a moving target, so whats really at stake here by protecting those inside of walls?

There's nothing to address. You're right, the game is flawed. Deal with it or fuck off.

Those are really your only two options.

Deal with it how? Isn't my response - botting - dealing with it?

Every time i've seen ranger bows used to actually try to hurt a serious enemy has been when they are standing behind a wall. The 2 parties exchange 0's, damaging each others armor until one party withdraws. It's simply because it's more effective to go up and punch someone in a normal fight then to try to shoot them and damage their armor slightly.

Wear enough armor and you can survive any ranged attack against you at least long enough to run into a house. Build a bigger wall so you don't ever go into rendering distance of any one outside. There are many options to avoid that kind of thing. Don't want to take the precautions? Be prepared to get shot at. Don't like it? Don't play.

Don't really know what to say other then that. But ya, there are A LOT of issues in the game right now, and nothing has been really changed in a while, so tough it out, or wait for the devs to come back and fix stuff.
