This one is the best imo.
Though I'd like to see something "exceeding" from the backpack.
Maybe a curios, like a stuffed bear arm or i don't know...

Also pickaxe looks like a banana on some random material.
I think wood should appear clearer like in this one :

Also I'd put a skeletton somewhere, with a big stone on some bones (cave-in)

Ah and making it 1280*1024 proportional would be a good thing

And the noob shouldn't know about "gold". She would just find the metal beautiful, or i don't know.
