but recently a bunch of friends started playing it so I guess it cant hurt to get opinion from HnH players who have tried it, what is your opinion of it compared to HnH ? better/worse? bearing in mind I don't even care much about the graphics
Worse IMO. There are still a lot of bugs to be ironed out. The menus, (imo) are sloppy. Examples being having to switch to the chat menu to see what you've said and when you PM someone, what you say is in the darkest, worst possible shade of blue making it impossible to read. Switching to the chat window also removes your options like inventory, equipment, etc. Also when you open the crafting menu it fucking plops it right over top of your other menus in the middle of the screen instead of down in the chat bar like in hnh. This enrages me to no end. Another flaw is that it's nearly impossible to jump into the game and start playing with friends. My plot buddy had to walk 4 irl hours from boston in order to meet up with our friend at his settlement. Not only is that not fun gameplay, but 4 hours just to make say, a cooking/farming alt?? Swimming is completely broken, the community is very much like hnh's only with more people "trololol"ing and "wtfthisshitisfuckinggay"ing. Once you play more it redeems itself moreso, like hnh. But from what I've seen it's just one massive headache. Oh, and btw. Until you have a homestead you can't port back to boston with items in your bag so I walked 2 hours away from the boston claim (can't forage anything near it because of all the other players) and had no way to find my way back. I was forced to walk around for another 2ish hours in order to find my way back.
Oh yeah, and the skills are very vague in name and even when you read the tooltip (which is 90% bullshit RPing crap and 10% actual description of the skill) most of the time you still don't understand what they do.
