Nobody ever broke into Sodom. There never has been any superpower remotely resembling Sodom since w3.

Removing crossroad system cant be done without implementing better movement system, if admins just remove crossroad system and leave game like it is now will be a big fail. To remove corssroad system they should implement horse, better boats, or any way to travel faster around world without losing much stamina, maybe make a new road system to encourage path building.

burgingham wrote:(Yes crossroads were fucking expensive before, how does nobody get that?), it takes a looot of time and it needs a big community to work on it though.

what is expensive and cheap can be quite subjective here ;)
crossroads before the fix were expensive for big factions, but cheap for new/casual players.
current crossroads are not expensive for big factions, but extremely expensive for new/casual players.

see that there is something wrong to this?
its not that "nobody gets that", but rather, many people are talking from newer players point of view, or we are only acustomed to such view points because we arent big powers or because we want to talk about balance.
those who get hurt the most with this change are the new/casual players, never the big powers who seem to abuse them.

just like sodom/pande loved taking cupboards and cheeseracks at the raids, while new/casual players wondering why you guys loved taking those, leaving lots of other "valuables" left untouched for them to get their hands on afterwards.

and as long as we have teleportation system, most players, old or new, big or small, should be able to benefit from such critical game functions. do not let such powerful function be limited to just rich players. and if we are to lose the teleportation system, key function fix should happen prior to that, as many have suggested before.
that is the "balance", i think.
(jorb and loftar, i hope im right to assume that you understand that brick walls, dhelms and such valuables being expensive and a game function being expensive are different stories.)

p.s.
some of us got lucky and could talk to loftar about these changes on irc. and i understand the reason loftar told us, even though i am not convinced and still against these changes. thanks, loftar, for that. and im sorry if i sounded too whiny.
(i will not post them, he probably doesnt want us to post "hear-say" and we all want to hear him/them directly instead.)
seeing what jorb wrote on previous page makes me think that they are not going to change them for the time being. but i would like you two to ponder and consider a bit more on this for the sake of the players who are still playing this game with love (and/or addictions).

i gotta say... got tempted, and wandered out, after earlier gettin chased by some dude in a merch robe and rbow... come to think he never would have hit me if i kept moving, anyway he gave up.

and i just ran across 2 dudes, who had not stopped using the autolog/hearth thing.... woulda left em alone, cept they stopped walking and just stood there, one arrow a piece and thank you for the iron and pots, guys were in the middle of raiding a village!, swooped in with an alt and cleaned the place. oh happy days, i love you Jorbtar, hail the beast!

IRC is a public channel. Loftar isn't expecting anything he says there to be treated with confidence. So go on and spill the beans already.
