The dimensions, depth and strategies that have been added to character development, as well as the lore and skill descriptions, blew me the fuck away. Also, exploring the early game (after finding that motherfucking smooth stone) is more fun than I've had in Haven and Hearth ever.

This game looks extremely promising. I will definitely play the full release avidly.
Of another era.

Can anyone pls tell me which of the skill values affect what? The description is only available for 2 and i cant find a tutorial on them anywhere. Which one is better to increase early on frontier & wilderness or hunting & gathering.

The claim thing isn't a bug. It's an intended mechanic. The problem is that it's been dropped on everyone like an anvil to the head and it's not fully implemented yet.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

How is the map generation? The terrain looks much more complicated, which is great.

imo, many of the features(not all, ofc) some people "hate" are showing their gameplay in a mirror.
many new features implemented on salem are there so that players cannot abuse/exploit like the old ones in haven.
e.g., not having hf to spawn near your friend is, in a way, the result of people abusing hf spawns and alts.
complicated inspirational/leveling up is the result of people abusing curios and botting.
hearing what you love and what you hate really tells how you had been playing haven and hearth :D

This a public service announcement: If you are planning to flatten any land to build something on it consider having a telephone with the suicide hotline on fast dial close by.

Presumably it's one of those things it's better to have friends to do it with? Divison of labour etc.

That's not the point, no matter what you do "This ground is not flat enough"
