Also anyone saying that botting is ok as we all cheat. Yeah other cheats are public knowledge, but some bots or scripts aren't. So if you are using tanning bug or fuel bug it's ok, as 90% of people are doing that (other 10% are noobs who can't read forums). With having ultimate bot for foraging is like having major advantage and how many people are abusing that? 10%? Yeah some gank squads who pump their character and level up army of them just to grief around... This Script are giving MAJOR advantage to some people. You can't forage 24/7, but with that bot you can. You can buy everything you want with all that stuff, you can level up army of characters and just let them die for fun. Another problem is that that kind of script makes game and perma death pointless. How much advantage you get with tanning bug? A few time? And fuel trick? A little wood? It's nothing game breaking. This one is, same as bug raiding.

It's not that I'm particularly approving it and I agree there are higher and lesser degrees of 'cheating', some clearly more damaging to the game than others but I still don't feel comfortable slating those that do use these practices to advance when I use Enders and exploit the fuel, tanning bugs to make my life easier.

I exploit to suit my needs, my exploits are not game breaking but still exploits, therefore I don't have the right to condemn others even if I don't agree with the exploits they are using.

p.s. Do not blame bot makers, it's a problem in logic of game (inner development problem). Every script, every weakness, every hack account or server, every hearth secret brutal force. Mostly that is show to us up the logical problem in game core, and bots(hacks) just indicator of problems

To a smaller extent but they are public knowledge in the same way, hell, first post of the thread contains links to some. You have to search a bit more and do a bit more setting up to do but ultimately there is no fundamental difference.

Well, you personally obviously don't use sign-post taming, night-vision/hiding objects or key-alts (defeating perma-death consequences in a much more meaningful way) then. But again, not even trying to describe the whole list of those abuses, the point is - you cannot claim the moral high-ground in those situations because you *feel* like your cheats are less major than the others. At the same time you, personally, won't stop using them simply because someone shamed you on the forums, and same rules apply, they won't stop botting because you, or jorb, "shamed" them on the forums.

In a similar fashion just as a newb-village can go on making leather and having fun with it, until someone introduces the leather bug at which point in a week max nobody will be doing it any other way, more and more people will bot just as it happened with atrocious alt play-style many worlds ago.

Yet more importantly it's not the question of "people are asshole" nor it ever was, random people put it similar situation in similar numbers would produce similar result - which means you can't combat it by shaming someone on the forum.

There is no link to any script on first page and I haven't seen any foraging script yet. So don't spread lies. Yes there is a bot, but no script for foraging.

I use all those "bugs" except ramming and raiding bugs. But I use them because almost everyone uses them already. You don't really get any major advantage over other players with that actions.. do you? Do you get more LP or stats than others? To you get anything you imagine and buy in game because of that? Problem is that public knowledgeable "bugs" and tricks are NOT game breaking.
Having unlimited supply of best curios in game and bug jumping walls and so on IS game breaking. do you feel the difference?
If this script would be public and 90% of people would be using it (all palyers except noobs who cannot read forums) that I would be ok as we would all play on same level. I don't f***ing mind if you bot 24/7, but I mind when you have 500 UA in one month against mine 150UA. Even if you are worse fighter than I, you can defeat me in game with that, because you can actually one-hit my whole defence. (well maybe not one hit, but you deplete it a lot). Also when you have tons of curios, what holds you back to have army of murderers and vandals at your disposal? You can even leave their HF on plain sight in the middle of nowhere with no wall around. You don't care about them being killed as you already have 99 more alts and unlimited supply of another bunch of LP's. Even farming and foresting bot is not so game breaking that this one. Actually those only save time. I don't mind people using them, I don't because I love to farm by hand.
Here in HnH we have exploits that can only little benefits you and some game breaking exploits that benefits you and put others into major disadvantage.

No doubt, but in the world of HnH, that is how I feel.

And yes, with day one hunting/taming you get better quality items and best fodo stats in the game ridiculously more fast than you could otherwise, same goes for night-vision and hiding objects when you compare your performance to that of person not using any. The difference you are referring to is actually of a different nature, it's the one "i use" versus "it's used against me", you praise the first sort of exploits and condemn the second one, and that's all there is to it.

Personally I don't get the point of being a "competitive gamer" to such an extent that you use every cheat and exploit that you can find to get the upper hand, at that point you aren't playing a game anymore.

I myself use the custom client that takes away trees and has radar for the simple fact that it's the only way that I can protect myself in this game against other players that do the same thing. It does however take away from a lot of the experience that the game has to offer and completely ruins any sort of immersion. The only reason I keep playing is that I've turned this into a post apocalyptic game in my mind where I go around busting peoples walls down to see what I can scavenge from the ruins. I use hunger bots to get enough str to do this, the only bot I use.

Well, that much has been done, Jorb has been here and acknowledged the problem, then again this has been dragging on for 3+ years with no improvements to speak of. I'm sure we can expect some exciting dick-bottles and other pointless shiny shit next update.
