I see your point of view but there is nothing we can do about it. Only devs can change things around here. It's better to just enjoy the game in whatever state it's in until devs decite to do something about it. That is the way i play the game. It's not like because of this someone is winning the game. If you don't know how to play the game with 18MLP char then LP will soon go to 0. :D
And who knows how to play the game won't buy chars.

RMT is not even the game being broken but the players.
And there are plenty of people who know how to use the combat system but cant be bothered to create that character the normal way.

And these things always start small and then grow. Look at the RMT in diablo 2, the economy is completely broken by the RM traders and their bots/hacks*. I don't see a reason to just let this happen here and not post against it.

*admittedly comparing h&h to D2 is like comparing a picasso with a 2year old's scribble, but yeah..

90% of my income is on my "manual" mining of gold, finding 3 gold nodes with bugged prospecting which devs don't give a *uck, planting trees where I don't bot, only thing anyone could blame me was boting farming for fibres, which 50% of world our farmer was doing on his own bare hands until he goten his hands to scripts.

So I can prouldy say my income is not botable. Oh, I forgot to add that manually made silk is part of it too.

I really like what everyone is writing here, but i will just stick to my "I have fun" part and if I earn few $ on on my way, I will do it ;)

As for donating. I give nice donation very next day devs start carring for game again, which I already stated. Until bug pms will get ignored, well, donation doesn't go where it shuold, right?

But to "fix" this you again need intervention of the devs. They would have to say like from now on there is forbidden to sell any in game stuff and chars. All user that do this will be baned an accounts deleted.
But there is no rules about selling stuff and there is no devs interventions (and probably won't be soon or never). What is then in the way for someone to sell some stuff for real money if you have buyers. Moral?
Judge some person moral according one game is funny.
And maybe because this game is in alfa state, devs will see some things (how it shouldn't be) and implement it in Salem. :)

And if Blizzard can't (or don't care) solve this problem than we are all fucked. :D

You sure didn't have a problem when your village mate was doing it  . I think you're using morals as a way to hide your bitterness towards people who were part of NNN. And you claim not to be biased

You don't have any real arguments so you fall back to me being bitter. Why would I even be bitter? About what? When do you get it that I don't care about any of you in that way? It is the game going to shit and it being always the same handful of people shitting on it that upsets me and keeps me here to try and change it.

I told people in the IRC channel right now that I should have started caring earlier, yes. I simply looked the other way before, but even in our Pande inner circle chat I told Ramones I dont really like what he was doing. I should have cared more, agreed.

JC, no need to attack burg on what i was selling as Pande member, he didn't have anything to do with it, was only me there. Was selling more or less my time and efforts.

And regardless to all words from anyone, I understand your concerns, but as said, i will more than gladly sell anything I can to make people happy. Always did, always will. I will stop selling for $ when devs state that they forbid that. But if burg you, or anyone else really want some things to change in game, selling for rl money stuff isn't on top of priority list and we all know that.

well, good for you then, i guess. can't believe you make enough to make it worthwhile then.

my other points (about it breaking the game's purity/beauty) still stand, however.

as soon as someone who is *just* interested in moneymaking comes along however, thats when the fun stops for everyone. you guys are just bringing this day closer.

btw i don't know if its classed as "spam" since we are all really just commenting on what you have for sale, Badich.

I won't say any more in this topic however, since noone has really come up with why I am wrong....

Guess it should really be split off to a different thread, but whatever.

This type of behaviour is where microtransaction games came from.

Let me put it this way.

I am that person offering cash for clay. I could never get Q80 clay in game. I don't have the manpower at world gen to find and guard one of those nodes. To me? Most games I could pay 5-15$ per month to play that are similar in playability/addictiveness to HnH. Offering 10$ (one month sub) for something I could *never* get in game otherwise becomes entirely reasonable at this point. And for someone sitting on Q80 clay at this point in the game, well they probably don't need as much as they have the ability to make. Maybe 10$ is a good deal for them in this case. Bam, everyone's life gets better. For 10$, suddenly I'm relatively rich in game world because I've got a Q80 kiln. That makes my life and my villages life MUCH better. And 10$? Reasonable to spend on a game if you don't do it too often.

Why not donate it to the devs? It doesn't make your in game life any better. Not to say it's bad to donate to devs, I've done it a little. It's just not satisfying the need in question here (this is not someone just trying to give away 10$).

Ok, so how can game devs harness this? Microtransactions. People who want to pay cash instead of spend time within the game. Stuff like x2 xp boosts for a week for 5$. Items you could spend time grinding for, but instead you pay a little extra overtop your subscription and bam, exactly what you want. It's profitable, but you've really gotta be careful how far down the line you go into Pay2Win gameplay.

As for Haven, Jorb and Loftar don't seem to care what people do with their cash (correct me if I'm wrong, haven't ever seen them post against it). Due to the transient nature of haven characters and items, the cash market is pretty small. Characters die, etc. If you want to see a game that has a very strong cash market, check out Wurm. Because the wurm currency is mostly derived from people paying real $$$ for it, buying and selling items for out of game cash is quite common. While I was playing Wurm, I was actually running an in game business producing about 30$ worth of in game currency per week that could have been converted into real money fairly easily.
Lucky: haven is so quirky
