Thank you azky. If you ever play, I'll probably find a way to get revenge on you for completely starving me during W3 in New London. Just a heads up ;)

Holy shit, this has come a long, long way.

I am truly impressed. I just finished up a Master's level class in Java and even cheating by using Eclipse I don't think I could do something this well.

Good job, Cameltoe.

Jackard completely changed the direction of the game when he came on board. While I'll take credit for the programming, work, dedication, and the long hours I spend prying my eyes out when a bug comes along, Jackard's directed this game towards a way more professional feel. I think we've both learned a lot since he's joined, honestly. Thanks for the kind words :)

Oh lord... the old, broken click-to-aim combat system... fun times.

Can you say what kind of combat system do you intend to implement this time? I'm glad it's being changed, last time I played the fighting was ridiculous.

It's still in the works, but we have a basic idea down. Essentially, we don't like how games like Minecraft, Terraria, and most MMOs handle real time combat. Most of their systems evolve around clicking as many potions as you can and keeping track of your inventory and ammo. That's the EXACT opposite of what ours will be like.

First off, there's a timer that doesn't allow you to suddenly switch weapons or drink potions during combat. Secondly, you aim with the mouse, hold spacebar down, and release onto your target (there is a damage area of about 7 tiles surrounding you). This drains stamina. When your stamina reaches 0 (by attacking, sprinting, etc), you are stunned and can't move around for 4 seconds. We also will have a wide variety of weapons with different uses and damage areas. Some will poison you, while others may make you slowly drip blood.

I know this doesn't sound very complex, but I assure you it's VERY skill-based and not dependent on stats as much as Colonies was. Keeping track of your stamina to make sure it doesn't drain and drinking the proper potions before battle can go a long way.
Thanks,
Jungletoe
