As someone with carpal tunnel, bots enable me to actually do activities I couldn't otherwise. Farming for example. This game is not at all optimized for people where clicking is painful (few are, but I've seen em).

Besides: At least bots are public now. It may make the problem seem worse, but in reality it's better now that the public has access to the bots that make life a lot more livable.

In previous worlds the gulf between the in crowd and the out crowd was incredibly massive.

yes, it's ok because now everyone can run 12 clients at once botting for flotsam. what a wonderful thing you all have made h&h into

maybe i'm in the minority here but i'd much prefer to play the game rather than automate it. i guess that's gonna put me behind all the script kiddies on LP, oh well.

God forbid you actually do something to prevent it.

I bot some farming, and I bot water collection (this one is brutal).

Beyond that I try to stay to activities that don't require much typing/clicking. Tree farming this world actually. I also set up autohotkey to automate scrolling in/out of things with a hotkey so I can actually build stuff again.

For those who are saying "it's not cheating because it is allowed", "you are just mad because you can't get a bot" or "deal with it", just because you can break the game doesn't mean you should do it, nor should you ignore others doing it. That's the whole point of this thread, I think.
And yes, it IS cheating.

I never said its impossible! I'm saying the OP could just be bait. There is no solid proof that those items have been collected by botting actions. This is all speculation that someone somewhere is botting like mad and getting tons of LP.

There you go, pathfinding with union scripting. With that its enough to make a decent pathfinding bot. Its entirely possibly, if you want go look up node ai.

It's cheating if the devs call it cheating though, and while they don't suggest people bot I'm not certain they've ever said people shouldn't bot.

But honestly, I enjoy the game more with bots for some things. A lot more.

Hauling wood is tolerable at first, but it gets a bit old after the first 2-3 thousand logs. And in general it's hard to find players young enough to hire to do that work. Not to mention hiring people in this game is a large security risk. Point being in some instances it actually improves the game, especially for overly grindy activities that bear no reward or alternative to mass clicking 10 pixels apart for hours on end.

Also: Anyone can bot now that there's public bot clients available.

Can confirm that at least 3 of those don't work
