Creating a server is 90% your own scripts. So im not sure where people are getting "lol you add a mod and its done" line from. Thus, i say people won't achieve what i have / will because clearly they have no idea what kind of work it takes.

I have also ran other servers with Ave online counts of 400-500 users online in the past so yes, i think we know what we're doing. And if you read, there is no tram etc, and there are hard penalties for killing players here. So, with that in mind.. this is a hardcore version of UO that most H&H users wouldn't like. Thus i laugh at the rage threads because people are actually shocked that you get killed in games that are based on farming.

What is amusing the most.. is people bash the game / myself without realizing a few things.

1, I have created a server while you haven't and may never do so.
2, I actually take care in hosting my server instead of running it from home.
3, Ultima Online started sandbox games like this, so saying H&H is better is false. Saying UO is shit is false, if it sucked.. again there wouldn't be games like it today (this, farm low level copy with only maybe 10% of its features and gameboy graphics).
4, You take insult to heart when i pic on the graphics. But only fanboys honestly think they PWN...

Now, come up with your own list and try to match it. But, i know it will be "LOLZ UR A FAGET" or some non-proven bullshit how H&H was the best game ever made with a few hundred player following for a "web browser game". That itself is easy to attract players... Imagine something like darkfall being accessed via http://www.playdarkfall.com rofl.

I imagine you will be proud of running a server for a decade old game, that looks fantastic on your resume. I mean, you've made it clear that you mean serious business and that H&H is total shit compared to what you're doing.

Oh wait, I forgot that there are people who have their own tastes when it comes to gaming.

I have no idea what message I meant to write here, but meh.

Well, just for the sake of argument, then; since I, who have written my own server (from scratch and all), might have some insights that you, who have not, lack. (I tried to avoid the subject earlier since I quite dislike writing these kinds of posts that just make it seem like I'm bragging, but it seems like you have a few misconceptions that really need to be corrected.)

It is true, as you say, that 90% of the code, in terms of pure amount and time spent, is in what you would refer to as "scripts". That is, the edge logic that just implements individual game actions, behaviors, objects and the like (though they needn't actually be "scripts" in the strictest sense of the word). However, none at all of the difficulty lies there. There are hardly any considerations of code complexity or performance at all that need to be taken into consideration at that level, since all such is handled by the actual game engine. I don't mean to say that writing a game engine is necessarily difficult per se, but in terms of relative difficulty, the game engine is orders of magnitude more difficult to write than the edge logic. In the vast majority of cases, a trained monkey (in other words, a Visual Basic programmer) could do the latter.

Just so you know.

As for all your other points, I have already retorted here and here. Though I am suspecting that you're just trolling for the sake of trolling, since you have consistently ignored all the actual arguments advanced against you in all threads so far, and have only responded to the raeg.

You know a game pwns when they react to PvP like this.

Cicious - I'm totally done with killers, I can't build a wall, I can't leave my house, cause some noobs think they can spoil gameplay for others. jorb, Loftar make a note of this, newer players will leave or not even being bothered to play this game if they get killed within their first 2 days. I had so much better idea's of a sandbox game like this, seems there's much to be done.

You know when a game pwns, when its all in English besides their runestones.

We do not have a map simply to keep the game where it is supposed for : SANDBOX. We have to try to survive, without a map it's hard, you have to learn and develop your own sense of direction.

That you even quoted me stuns me to be honest. I raeged there, next time read the other posts before qouting a person. Rofl.

This game is I.N.T.E.R.N.A.T.I.O.N.A.L, so yeah Russian *are* allowed.

And FYI, looking for players on other forums is pathetic, you say you have 60 players at the pre-launch, we have over 300 online at the same time while jorb and Loftar do NOT advertise at ALL. Now go troll somewhere else, with your horrible game, which looks like Runescape but 1000000x worse. Gawd.

POINT OF ORDER!

Joftlorbtar submitted their game to a competition for which they made a trailer (the one on the front page) and a bunch of screen shots. That's advertising.

Personally I find it to be the most (and possibly only) palatable form of advertising available.

Just stop with the shit about your FUSION UO, we happen to like this game and you for one cannot change that. If we think your game is shit, then we think it's shit. You can't change other people's opinions to your favor, you've already ruined the forums enough.

Go back to your shitty Fusion UO server or troll elsewhere.
