There is. You just have to destroy your hearth fire and get invited to a village. Then you can port or log in at the village idol, regardless of your AGI/TW.

I play hermit/social... I live alone in my litle claim, but my kin partners live in similar claims in the area. We are close enough to help each others and far enough to live peacefully and undisturbed. It is like a free farmers/hunters league.

I'm also a hermith and I like it that way. I do what I want to do, no one tells me to do something, when I want to chat with someone or trade I just go along the river. Playing as a hermit has it + and -
I think that most up players live in villages, but I play to have fun, not to be the best.

Same as all the guys above me. This is my main's story on his life..

After I made him and attempted to do what I would do in RL I.E. Make fire.. beds.. etc. I figured out very quickly that even the simplest of tasks require some sort of skill.. after I got fishing and not knowing you needed to find a hot spot for fishing I set up a tiny base alongside the river. Someone found me and taught me some important things[ How to make stone path.. fish.. lots of etc.] he then asked if I wanted to live in his little area with his brother.. of course I said yes XD I learned how to do everything there.. build houses. log chop etc.. then I left that farm cause they haven't been active for months. and then I began my trip to a village I found on the forums...

After packing up all my stuff in a boat I began a LONG trek to the village.. it took about an hour with the instant travel. didn't find any mines along the way [makes me wonder if I will ever see one XD] and thats where I am today. hunting and doing alot of fun things.. I even got myself a bear cape :D.. Learn from my story. [If you can.] good luck hearthlings..

I think that hermits participate in a unique style of roleplay within this game. Being a hermit gives yourself a greater challenge in order to survive and maintain your home since you lack the help of others.

All in all, I think it's a great aspect of our game - an aspect that allows one to choose between comradery (and possible betrayal) or solitude (which increases your risk of dying). The ability to choose is what gives us freedom in this game.

Someone who finally is just like me. I play for fun not to be the best. My items are mediocre quality. My settlement is small. But I enjoy playing and honestly, that's the point of this game, no? People may think "I play to have the best quality and the biggest empire". Yeah? If that's your definition of fun, so be it. My definition of fun is playing the game, surviving. And Avu, I'm not sure how Hermits are "Useless". That doesn't even make any sense at all. We live alone and let people to their business. I'm not sure how that makes us useless.

I have no use for you hence you are useless.

If a hermit in the woods died and
no one knew him or cared about
him, did he ever really die?

Alright, that makes perfect sense. I see arrogance is common on these forums.
