The IRC channel is run by goons, it is biased towards their opinions. While I fully support other mods I don't think it would matter much. Goons own the channel, people just need to deal with it.

I know the goal is to make this the "official" irc channel for H&H. But it will continue to be a goon playhouse unless you make structural changes, like a real set of rules that are enforced.

+1 DoG

+1 for DoG and ofcourse +100 for Darki. The former serious, the latter just to blend in with the crowd 8-)
(Darki, I can't believe it was me who started your mod election campaign. You owe me a beer.)

Why not just create a different IRC channel as the official one?

You can try all you want but why bother?

1)It would be the same exact problem if someone else ran it,people screaming bias, and bias then actually happening.

2)Jorb/Loftar don't seem to want an 'Official' one which would be the only reason to actually change it.

No one's stopping you from doing it, I had #haven on Rizon for quite some time but only used it 4chan villagers/players.

These are my thoughts as well. One way to reduce the amount of people screaming bias is to enforce a serious set of rules. Right now the rules boil down to, annoy a mod, get banned. Adding more mods or removing current ones isn't going to fix this problem.

No spamming.

A strict rule of either there's no Racism bullshit OR there's no rule for it.

I often see people go on for hours about how people are 'niggers' or 'fucking chinks and slanted eyes' blah blah blah without a goddamn thing happening then 2 hours later someone halfass mentions something racist and gets a ban, it's happened more times than I care to count, there should either be a rule that this isn't allowed or a rule that it is, otherwise people see it happen, think it's okay, do it, and then get banned for it.

Posting links to stuff, I know this is already enforced, it should be stated as an obvious rule, posting to obscene shit should be a ban, I almost vomitted while eating once when that dude you banned after posted some gore.

Getting around bans and impersonating people should be optional.

--
These are just some typical rules you see in most IRC channels, really it should just be whatever the leaders of IRC see 'fit' as rules, but they should be stuck to, since there are 'no rules', people do things and wonder why they get banned later.

As for the 'disagreeing/arguing/talking back to a mod = ban' that's absolute bullshit imo, the IRC while 'unofficial' is essentially a 'public forum' for most people and we talk freely in there, if a mod kills you and you start calling them a faggot for it, why is that any different than if some random user killed you and you start calling them a faggot?

Just some ideas.
