maybe there should be a pop-up that says "hey swimming is dangerous and could permanently kill you character" the first time you try to toggle swimming on

swimming is stupid remove it or lower the con requirement. there is no reason rivers should be unpassable for most people without a boat.

Huu. Whats there to fix. OP neglected to use some common sens and to check if there might be something more about swimming then he was assuming. I main .. where talking here about a game with permanent (well almost) character dead and with nasty boars that hunt beginners around. What other hints do you need ...
