Sandbrook, I didnt name it but If I remember correctly it was named at random.
Lethe Lake, I REALLY liked the name, the lake of the dead of coarse.
Gulgatha, biblical, but thats not why I chose it. I chose it becuase of its dark tower connection. It was the place of bones that Roland Deschain and Randall Flagg (Walter if you would like, but his real name is Flagg) had their "palaver" at the end of the first book.

Gulgatha, place of the skull.

When I first came to the game, it came about that both Artemis (the guy I met at first log in who taught me how to fish in w1) and I were major lovecraft fans. An so Innsmouth was born.

It was ideally suited to be a port hub city to bridge two grids at the suggestion of teleportation removal...which never came...and was instead, just shittons of drama.

For my little village/hermit shack, I used to make a LOT of linen and export it to neighbors. Historically, Belfast Ireland was a major production center in europe for linen IRL, so I looked up what the Irish call Belfast in gaelic, which is "Beal Feirste" (means the sand-bar at the mouth of the river or something like that), so that's what I called it :) I also looked up translations for crossroad post names, which may or may not be properly done, but whatev :P If shoddy english is more or less acceptable, why not bad gaelic?

Maybe you could do something similar for your village name?

Slainte!

Bundoran is irish for hillside. The village was on a hillside. Not much to it really.

And it was funny.

Has anyone made a village called "Yo Momma"? Because "Entering Yo Momma" would make me giggle every time.
