You should assign some 'reliable' players with powers to set tags, this way, less work.

World 3: http://havenmap.student.utwente.nl/World3/

That's a good idea, but it also means I have to create a system to properly input new village names.
Or not, hmm, okay how's this:
If someone is interested in hosting/doing stuff with the village names, please look at this file:
http://havenmap.student.utwente.nl/Worl ... lages.json
Shouldn't be too hard to understand. It's:
Name, x-coord, y-coord, map (as in map=3), visible-from-this-zoom-level
For example: "Constantinople",0.3099999999999909,0.75,1,3

If someone creates and hosts a file like that somewhere, I can just link to theirs, and we'll suddenly have villages :)

Right, the third website I'll be uploading my minimap dump to.

I'm just wondering though, isn't it a bit inefficient to compress the map data of everything, I remember Mashadar's uploader actually going like "oh I need these minimaps"

They're not compressed, just zipped on "store" setting, which is without compression. Like a tar file.
Or do you mean you don't need to upload tiles in the same place? That could be argued, indeed, but I had some plans to do stuff with history and world development and time-lapse gifs and such, where older tiles would be valuable.

I was actually referring to the fact that the server should check which minimaps it doesnt have, and then just download those, and not a complete archive with already-acquired minimaps and doubles.

Shouldn't an MD5 check for a picture be enough? <.<

That would be possible. For now though, you keep a local database with which pictures are already uploaded, so those won't get re-uploaded at least.

It would have proven your point much better and also proven you really do understand how to fight people and not only how to slaughter helpless sheep.

If you uploaded it, then yeah, I got it. The uploading hasn't actually been down, just the processing.

O dear ... hate to be the bearer of bad news ... but spotting mapping mismatch, kinda like what happened to your W3 map.
(I have not looked at old database yet ... so I have no additional ideas yet.)
