Re: A question About This Amateur Game.

If you read my posts around the forum, you can be sure that i'm Flame and i have ever hated the way that this game destroy himself. And you can see my stupidity on suggest something usefull to a game that don't wanna be responsible in his way to grow.

Like the "Only a chara with rage learned, can die by another Chara. A simple worker without rage or trepassing, should be just stunned. So people can die, can be raided, can be ruined, but only who wanna fight put himself in risk to die."
Bot is not "realistic". Not how much realistic is that a man can kill everyone with a sword whitout rick, because a couple of numbers say this.

Anyway, i'm not sure if this game have a problem in the server or in the client or in the software. Probably it have all this XD.
But i'm sure that is easy calculate the max pick of user connected in the whole day, and use that number to choose the max users to let join.

If HH have a pick of 1300 users online in the 6 - 9 of evening (for my clock), we can say that 1300 is the max users he have. So we can put a max of: 2300 people connected. ----- around 4000 or 6000 accounts.

When the server upgrade, the max accounts will grow to 8000 and so on, because 1300 users logged mean that 1300 are sleeping (i think less than 1300 to be honest).

Now. If you KNOW that your server (or client or software) can handle 500 users (example), you force the accounts and set a max of 3000 accounts, so you can have a pick of 800 logged users in the hot hours of the server.

This is an example and i don't own the data of the accounts of hh, i don't have any number, but is simply make a proportion with the server and the users.

All the problems that you'r saying, are solving using the simple Math, that i'm unable to use, but a programmer need to use.
If my server can handle tot users, i create a proportion that let my server play few users and MAX all the users i can handle. And stop.

Are you understanding what' i'm trying to say, Loftar?

I finally understand what are you trying to say. Damn it`s hard. You want to reduce the maximum number of accounts in order to limit the playing user peak. Right? Let`s say they do that..have..4000accounts..ok?..now, 1500 of them want to play exactly NOW; ->server fails. Profit? ? no.
That peak it`s because that`s when US and Europe timezones meet and a big number of people want to play at the exact same hours..you can`t change that. Limiting accounts won`t do any good if those x accounts are the most active from the entire player-base. Those 4000 accounts can contain the "peak" number of accounts playing at the same hour.

LE: You can`t do that average in you last post simply because not all the people play every day, at the same hours, the same amount of time.
Lets do some math(using your logic): 2100max (as you said) take from here 800 that play at peak hour for...6 hours(and only then), after that they log out and go sleep/work/cut grass/eat etc. So in a 24-6=18 hour period you have 1300 players that can play. That`s....72/hour? (this approximation is unrealistic ofc, it`s just an example).
Conclusion: server is a wasteland when it`s not peak hour...

Of course mine is an easy example, and all the problems that you've told are solvible with a LARGE extra number of connection allowed. I think that the server that we have now can handle 1000 people, but when he reach 1300 it start to lag a lot. So the max pick of the server could be 1000? 1100?
Once we know this, we can create all the numbers around this. Choice the max users accounts, the max users logged etcetcetc.

I think that an open game is in danger. Someday not so far it could be invaded by a wave of innocence people that will destroy the actual gameplay with the lag.
And i'm sorry but is'nt they'r fault. Is a Game Fault. All the people have the same right to play if the server is open.

If we can avoid an overload so easily, why not?

How about you be proactive, pay for another server, and hush this nonsense about quotas?

Why an amateur game with a home made server, should be opened to all the players; also those players that the server can't handle?
If server can handle 1000 players, it seems to me obvious that, after reached 1000 registered users, it lock the insciptions.
This is an evil choise?
I think is a logic choise. No one of us have 1 billions to donate to HH to let dev's buy a Cool Nasa Server Homemade. This is simply an amateur game that dev's build in they'r free time. I'm wondering why let it open to 3000000 users if server can handle 1000.
If this game will be unlucky, someday he'll see 400000 new users that will discover this game and then, Patatrack!! the game will be unplayable, people will quit, no one will send donations enough for 400000 users and new users will never donate anything for a crashing lagging unplayable game.

Imho.
An Amateur game have the right to put a "stop Inscription" to guarantee an average gameplay to those 1000 players.

Ps: Are you ready for the first answer that will be so smart to say "No 8D!" ? I'm ready for this stupidity. Show you'r best, forum! :3
