Very much like the beginning of W3 atm, however, I really hope it stays this way or gets worse. We had stability through a well meaning big power last map (at least up until mid-map), it was stupid boring.

Should be relatively safe with claim and sealed pali. Just don't leave when "nice" people tell you to.

Stop whining, nothing good in the world comes free and you can't expect to fight well if your main focus and highest skill is farming or carpentry, it wouldn't even be fair towards griefers. The first thing I did after I saw people stealing my hides is place a claim. After browsing the forums I immediately started building a palisade, claimed it whole and atm I feel kinda safe... That + throw all spare LP into UC + rage+armor should mean at least something if some griefer comes to my place.

Raiders, looters, and thieves are not griefers. You don't know what griefing is or what the term means. There is no 'fair to griefers' as the very essence of being a griefer is that of a piece of shit and gaining enjoyment out of annoying or hurting others and ruining their time. There is a huge difference between legit criminals in game and griefers. That said, 100k LP is nothing to spend on a little peace of mind.

Is it possible to achieve it as a hermit? I can go back using hearth fire but how to get out without keys?

Use an alt character just to open and close the gate.

Hmm. That's a good idea. It makes you vulnerable during the leaving procedure but you are safe after that. I think that I will use it :).

One more question: My little castle is of size of about 35x35 tiles and isn't "glued" to a "land bank" (i miss a word to describe the thing in which entrances to caves are :)). Is a palisaded area of this size too small to be safe from walling in?

I'm not very sure what you mean by "glued" but I assume you used the cliff as a natural barrier not to build one side of the palisade. Go at your own risk, if you did it wrong you're screwed. :)

Yeah, that's what I meant saying "glued". And the cliff is the word I was looking for :D. So or so, I am NOT using cliffs as a part of my walls. I have also sealed the palisade corners.

What am I wondering here: Is it possible that some griefer will be so determined that (s)he will build a 39x39 palisade around my palisade just to lock me in? Have anyone seen such act of random griefing before or it's too much even for most bored griefer?

I doubt someone has that much free time. However if someone does you can PM jorb/Loftar and they'll probably deal with the no-lifer ass.
