Make lots of friends or enemies. That will keep you busy.
You could also create pavement designs, or do some other kind of terraforming.
Try to get gold and silver.

Also, about the event you mentioned: A lot of exciting stuff has happened since then, and will hopefully continue to happen.

It's week two, what do you mean soon? You can have silk production going as early as day 3.

Announce on the forums that you will not tolerate theft and crimes in your supergrid.

Rob the local market and announce on the forum that you are setting up a protection racket.

There are things to trade, but you never knew, probably, the time where ring of brodgar was travelable. Honestly, is better walk one hour in search of ww that trade for that, you need 5 hours of travel to find someone that wanna buy your stuff. And when you'r not a noob, then you'll have probably all what you need. The only thing you could neer are betters tool, so is just a little little trade between few strong peoples.

Not the Trade that i mean.

of course, i traded at the ring of brogdar all the time in world 2. in world 3 i traded with many people in constantinople, buyan, new cockhaven, angkor, xanadu and lost caverns, and many smaller villages and hermits, some of whom i gave crossroad signs to, others i invited to a trade village, and with others i would be invited to their village. i did a few trades involving wagons as well. in world 4 i didn't do much trade, only with a few small groups and hermits nearby, and a couple of trades with faraway friends with village invites or crossroads. but there had not yet been established any marketplaces, just as there has not been any established yet in this world. but regional trades will happen first, then when people have more agility, and some markets are established, global trade will flourish once again. i think we will see a lot of trade once people get settled and actually have a surplus of goods available. right now everyone has very little to spare because they are still building and raising their quality.

i remember someone tryed to build a trading city in w3, raided soon and often.
I know is possible trade but it is really hard have a nice trade and the game dont help you so much in this. You need to have really lot of free time to use in a game to have a nice trade all days.
Hh should become your second life, it is quite hard.

well, the two places i traded most frequently were constantinople and buyan market. they were very different. constantinople had barter/vendor stands, but they were constantly being stolen from or vandalized. i only traded in person there. buyan was brickwalled and only trusted people were allowed signposts to it. there was no crime there, barter/vendor stands were quite safe to operate, and i conducted most of my business from stands there. the only things i traded in person were lifted items. they couldn't be placed in vendor stands.

xanadu, after we abandoned it, and before we lost it, was a regional trade hub for a while, we gave out a lot of signs to the xanadu dock. there were no stands there, just person to person trading.

and, in my entire career of trading from world 2 onward, i have only been attacked once.

At constant and Buyan, and the Ring of Brodgar, were there ever y'know... major fights? Random people attacking new players, I do know they'd get dropped in a heart beat but I'm just curios if this ever happened.
