As for how I feel about macroing, I mostly have a strong distaste for it. It becomes not about a game and more about being rewarded for leaving your computer on for a few hours. That said, there are some tasks that are repetitious and entirely unnecessary that may as well be macroed as they benefit no one or at least benefit players in very small ways while heavily bogging players down. Paving stones is high on my list for things that are painfully tedious to do by hand. While the idea of roads is wonderful fun and it's great to use a cart to move things around, it becomes painfully clear all too soon that teleporting is much faster and less labor intensive route to transporting individuals and resources quickly and efficiently.
Well, don't forget this isn't world of warcraft. There aren't whole forums dedicated to botting (ok well that's a lie, they are just in russian). So you pretty much have to script the bots yourself.
And even to get some of the scripts to run you have to change many variables etc. So mostly, scripting is reserved for people that aren't completely retarded.
Are you saying botting is good or bad I can't tell.
For my own opinion its basically the same the majority. Some tasks are stupidly tedious such as farming where you not only have to do semi precise click, wait, sort, click again and repeat. It would almost be bare-able if it weren't for the fact that you have to wait so you can't just go sort go, there this unnecessary pause. The way to speed it up doesn't speed it up enough and is a bad trade for increased inventory space. I hate farming as it currently is and would rather it be you click on a plot (larger than 1x1 if you choose area) and you hearthling just goes to work until the bags are full at which point you take over. This cause you to be able to do other thing.
Oh and at people saying that if you don't want to do something don't play the game: You realize that this is a silly argument as if farming was simply punching yourself in the dick for a minute I wouldn't want to do it either and would gladly set up a robot to do it.
So where is the line drawn when macroing is acceptable? Something that might be tedious for one person might not be tedious for another. It seems some people set themselves up for tedious work when they have giant fields of crops that stretch across two screens.
