there are still new games following old principles.. they just aren't being advertised nearly as much..
Path of Exile (like old diablo.. just a lot more grimdark.. yay!)
or from different genre Bloodline Champions if you like pvp.. (you can't buy anything that helps u in the game which is kind of nice..)
if you know what you're looking for you can find it .)

I really can't call myself a modern gamer or much of any kind of gamer lately. And no I don't pay for power and I never will. The only game where I allow cheating is single player where I am the only one who has to suffer the consequences of the imbalance that cheating creates. And let's be super serious here buying shit with real money is cheating and now apparently sanctioned and encouraged too.

I think misc changes like having ur char look slightly different and stuff like that is ok (like LoL, you don't actually have to pay to win, you just pay real money to look cooler). But actually being able to buy items is kind of retarded.

If they want an MMO for people to make money (as some believe this will help 'pros' do) they should be going with something like Entropia Universe. That's a great idea, if attached to a more fantasy/better game overall it'd probably pwn.

Omg... I think I know what game you're talking about... you can't do ANYTHING in that game without reaching for your debit card. I think I was collecting sweat from animals before I said "screw this game" and left.
