your counter arguments have also revealed severe mental retardation all around. you like having to click a path around a tree yourself instead of just clicking where you want to go? (which is normal in every mouse operated game since the DOS era). yeah, have fun with that. this game isn't terraria? you claim it's actually quite different? wow! how many braincells did ya have to rub together to think pointing that out was relevant? I shouldn't complain about an alpha game? it's just as terrible as a year ago! all these points (and more) were a problem then as they are now, and an "alpha" doesn't last longer than a few months
the point however is this. regardless of how much you like this game yourself, why do most gamers just sneer at it in disgust? why hasn't it picked up a decent following since it was first publicly available (which has been for quite a while now)? dwarf fortress was mentioned before, which obviously has a much steeper learning curve. yet still that game is far far more popular than this game ever will. you should ask yourselves why that would be, even with the learning curve and terrible graphics.
what really is happening here is a cult like circle-jerk of a tiny club of people where everyone tells each other the game actually is much better than it seems, and will get even better eventually (which, surprise surprise, it won't). this goes on till you all agree with each other and feel superior to anyone who just doesn't "get it". you all see what you want to see instead of the blubber in front of you, thanks to constant positive reinforcement from your peers. hows that religion working out for you?
this game just has no future, and neither do the players.
