TBH, Painhertz is right. You guys are making the game boring yourselves. Either find something to do (raise noobies or kill them for lulz, create a cool village, etc.), or take a break from the game. I take breaks on and off, works out well for me.

Flame is right. It's time to shake things up a bit. Lets work on a world-wide mega project. Connecting all major villages with roads. Try and make the coin system work so it's not just for single villages. It's a lot easier to say it can't be done than actually try to make it work.

Common metal is about worthless to anyone other than hermits and newbies. I'm just tired of looking at all the dead claims with my exploration alt. There's only one quadrant of the map I haven't visited, and I'm sure it looks just like the other three.

I cant go anywhere without seeing a dead settlement/claim/village. when I got into the area I am now, there were corpses EVERYWHERE. of coarse, they were scattered about as if they had died fighting, so I left them there.

and you all go get crazy and find new nodes of resources, then what, have another resource wars or massacre?
you track scents extra few more SGs only to find another vault, or just have to keep on killing vanda alts with open hfs that can never hurt the real perps?
more new players shouting on the forums that they cannot find anyone else in game, even more? or asking for coords?
rangers will have to waste even longer time to find perps online? or just spend extra hours to find the same player in a new vault far away is responsible? to make criminals even easier to get away with their crimes with better quality loot?

world expansion may benefit some established villages with manpower, but i doubt it would benefit new joiners.

go ahead if you think you are up to it. i only hope you realize what are involved to make it work, and why sab and DoG decided not to do it this world.

I won't say it can't be done, either, but the amount of work to be put into it for the rewards to the player base is just ridiculously stupid. I really have to agree with the conclusions (although I never necessarily agreed with the methods) that was discussed several months ago.

You make some good arguments here. What will an expansion bring? What did it bring in the past when the world was expanded? Just because it's going to bring a bunch of wars isn't a good reason to not do it. (In a game like this, it very well could be a reason to do it.)

As someone else pointed out, there's more than enough room for vaults already. A little more surface area isn't going to make much difference there. (You could, in theory, create a pretty complex 3D maze of a vault that's either hard to navigate or time consuming/dangerous to bash through.)

Do rangers even bother doing much more than tracking scents right now because of the hearth vault issues? Great, you found a noob (or disposable alt) that did something to grief others. That wasn't really worth anyone's time. The real criminals stay safe. A bit more distance isn't going to make them any safer or harder to locate.

Better loot: well, there will be more resources to go around for the existing player base. I'd hardly call that "better", just more common, meaning it's not worth as much overall. (Of course, that depends on how much of the player base does scramble for the new sites and what quality comes out of the RNG.)

Expansions in the past were almost always good established players by providing new sources of raw materials (especially metals). They were just as good for new players, though. The more spread out things got, the more likely a single player or small group could stay out of the sight of random violence. Right now, that's almost impossible to do.

A trade hub would Require bricked up lots with two gates (though if set up correctly no initials are needed but MANY CP's are) where a gate opens to expose a trading stand. Key alts and so forth make it a a sort a vault so that players can port in to their private areas locked to check the area and lock all their stands up and then go restock.

You say common metal may only be valuable to nubs but this kind of project demands a fuckton of wrought and steel let alone the bricks. Next up is the known and respect military force protecting that place against all incidence.

Well I for one am against a world expansion because i have finally found a quiet area somewhat near a map edge and an expansion of the map would lead most people to fight wars on my door step. I dont want that. Instead of world expansions every time a world gets into a stalemate or end of resource war, they ought to implement a system that would change nodes over time, so new nodes are always coming and going over the course of a few months or weeks. But because this would be extremly complicated ( I think) it would have to wait, and this post is totally irrelevant now. :)

Well, I do remember when Jorbtar implemented that tree sprout system where they sprouted automatically, but they would sprout in unwanted places so they were removed. Perhaps build off something like in regards to other resources? Instead of having, for example, great quality water in one spot which someone can just claim with an alt, make it only last for a few days and this reappear in another spot? Sure it could be annoying if you want a constant supply of great quality resources nearby but this way everyone has a chance of getting it and then it opens up trade between players.

However, that brings up the argument of alt claims, which are so easy to create it's a surprise why the entire world hasn't been covered in them yet.

I'd be more than happy to tip in my wrought for this endeavor. I have over a hundred now i think.
