Ah, actually, it'd be nice if we didn't bring that heckling to the How Do I forums. I sort of like it as this universally neutral ground where we understand that not everyone is getting off on the same foot and not everyone is experienced with the ways of the internet or video games. What happens elsewhere is fine but every newbie deserves a chance in the world somewhere and somehow =)

If the person posting admits their mistake of not utilizing information that's been posted beforehand, you can see how those "name callers and flamers" are quite forgiving.

I don't know about that? For instance, I posted a thread here less than a week ago proposing a simple opinion about global chat, and the first reply was someone calling me an idiot because my post was pointless.

I saw nothing in the forum rules saying that posts in the Inn could not simply represent my opinion, nor was my thread a repeat, as it was about an event which had happened a day or two beforehand. I bet you I could also use that same search function to find 100x posts in short order in which someone is degraded or insulted simply because they are unknown in the community or are new to the game.

This has nothing to do with being unknown in the community or in the game. People simply treat each other like this in both real life and online~
It is a great way to discount an opinion opposing yours, by declaring it wrong or pointless. It creates burden on the OP to validate their opinion and justify themselves. Basic debate.

It was painhertz who posted that. I mean, he's a good guy and all, but read through his posts, ur hardly the first person he's said something of the sort too ;)

New blood is always good to have, I'm sure after most of the new people cut their teeth on the forums and in game, the community will benefit from it.

Dunno if this helps but I found H&H after looking for a new MMO to play. I LOVE this game. Had my area invaded for the first time a couple of days ago. 90% destruction but that 10% left me enough to rebuild. At least I'm not dead. Permi-death is the only way to game. Makes you take it seriously.
